I was on a site I can't remember where. I saw this ad for government grants. I have seen this same ad lots of times on other websites when I'm searching for something.For $2.95 you will get a DVD to teach you about government grants. You also get free assistance from a professional grant associate. I can't remember the exact wording. I decided I would finally give it a chance. Who knows, maybe I can get free money from the government to do repairs on my house. And get help from someone who knows how to fill out the papers the correct way. A few days later, I was checking my bank account and saw a charge for $1.74 for international pos fee. I called the bank, and was told the company I dealt with is either over seas or there parent company is over seas. Right then I regretted ever trying such a stupid plan. You know, you get that feeling of dread from head to toe. I was checking my bank account a few days later, and low and behold, a charge for $57.93. The name on the charge, Grant Assist. I called them on the phone and some names when I got them on the phone, and was told the fee rate is in the fine print. I told them I wanted a refund for the $57.93 and you could almost hear the s.o.b. laughing on the other end. He gave me the e-mail address of the supervisor, who I e-mailed promptly. Guess what; I never heard back.
