we have had 5 websites hosted through 1and1 for the better part of the past 12 months, and it has been an ordeal from day 4. the setup was rather smooth and they even had someone call us back after the setup to inquire about our experience. But that was it. From then on it was billing errors after billing errors. and once our ayment did not reach them after 3 days, they locked out account and took our sites off. the to reconnect they ask for extra fees, and wait almost 6 days after they've collected the money to put our sites back online. The latest salco cam last week, when they took one of our site off. We emailed them, and it turned out they had in fact turned our sites off for weeks, on the ground that we had missed payments, which was inaccurate. After 10 days, the actually sent our account for a collection agency. I mean they never called us, never sent a letter, and we were not even aware of it. All of our sites we have with them were paid up. And the arrogance of their staff is just amazing. Now we're fighting them to transfer our accounts, all of our accounts and site away from these people. I have never experienced anything like that with a site hosting company, and i have been using them for the past 8 years....... To our potential customers: just stay away from 1and1.......you will most likely regret dealing with them. |

I also have had nothing but problems, I have been using them since they first started and launched their 3 free years campaign. I have never regretted it more than I have recently. Even though all of the bank accounts I have worked perfectly, they would accept some payments and decline others, they told me on the phone several times that the problem was in their system (As did my bank and paypal). They have completely locked my accounts, I spoke to Damien Christopher (the Head of Billing) and he was incredibly rude to me, told me to change cards because that one was blacklisted (which they failed to tell me until that day, and never explained the reason) and then hung up on me. I called again today and they transferred me to him and it went straight to his voice mail, I left a message, an hour later he called me back, I explained the problem nicely and calmly and he hung up. The card that I have on the account works fine, it's a new card, without any sorts of limits, yet they said they said it was declined and the credit card company said that 1and1 has not even attempted to run this card. Many hospitals, medical practices, and big companies rely on my services, and 1and1 has completely ruined it and cost us countless time and money. This is the absolute worst company on the face of the planet. I cannot believe that they allow them to operate with rude employees, horrible customer support that lies frequently, and some of the worst business practice/ethics I've ever witnessed in my life. Do yourself, your business, your reputation, and your clients a favor and AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. |
