A&E Appliance Repair
A&E Appliance Repair Needs a lesson in 'customer service' Internet
31st of May, 2011 by User801698
What a horrendous experience!!! First, they apparently can not tell time as they were still 30 mins late for a 4 hr window given for the appt time. The repairman they sent was very rude and obviously ready to be off for the day. I was just trying to repair a Whirlpool washer but little did I know what I had goten myself into. After he made the issue even worse, he informed me my repair would cost $470. This included the $141 I had to pay just to have his rather large self come to my house, tear up my washer further and hook it up to a computer. My other options were to go buy a new one, decline the service (still pay $141), or decide to have it fixed @ which point I would owe another $141 PLUS the cost of the part. Foolishly, I took the bait and they hastily swiped my credit card. I got to sit another week without clean laundry until the following Saturday, move furniture @ 7 AM only to have them show up a little before 1 (once again, poor time management since they were almost an hour late this time). 2 hours of sweating and making my house dirty it was finally done! One new tub! I was so excited, and up to my ears in dirty socks, that I gave it try. Half way thru the first load I got the same error code! I called immediately and complained so they promised to send someone out asap. 3 1/2 hrs later they came back and after some trial and error decided it would cost another $250 to fix. (They missed the entire problem the first time) I referred the man to the guarantee which said my money would be refunded if they do not repair it correctly and I was going to have to go buy a new $900 appliance. He said they would refund the cost of the part but still out the $141. No problem, I said and he began filling out a refund slip. I inquired as to why the slip considering they TOOK my money on the spot before and it would seem it has to be mailed (really?) to the company and I will have the refund within 5 days. He even told me to call the service line if it wasn't credited by then. I promptly called @ the end of the week. Some unfortunate young lady got the brunt of my frustration and assured me someone would respond to my concerns within 2 business days....4 business days later (and still no credit) I called back. After another unfortunate soul listened patiently to my rant, put me on hold and either spoke to a supervisor or just wiped away the tears, I was "assured" the money would be credited by the following Monday. It's 2 days later, than that "assured" date and still no credit...I keep waiting and calling daily to complain. In short, I will gladly set my next appliance-in-need-of-repair on fire, in the front yard (consequences by damned) before I EVER call this company again. The sad thing is, the repair was thru Sears which really used to be a trustworthy dealer obviously that is not the case anymore. A & E should be closed in order to spare the rest of the general public from the horrors (and not just the bill) they bring into the home disguised as smiles and 'customer service'. Save your sanity, time and wallet from these crooks and, by all means, call ANYONE else!!!!
