AdvanceMeToday.com In October of 2010, I applied for a payday loan from AdvanceMeToday.com. Based on their disclosure of credit terms I believed that the full amount due would be debit from my account on my next payday. I found out just before my next payday that they auto-renew the loans. They place you in a position where you end up paying more than the amount agreed too. They make the following claim when you try to exercise your rights to cancel the ACH agreement.
'This is a St. Vincent company. St. Vincent and the United States are both parties to the General Agreement on the Trade in Services, a treaty which specifically permits companies in one country to make consumer loans to citizens of the other. Under the treaty, we are only obligated to follow the federal laws of the United States. We are not required to obtain state licenses and individual state laws do not apply since the federal laws adopting this treaty supersede any state laws on the subject.' If you are currently doing business with them, or thinking of doing business with them don't. Check your state laws regarding payday lenders. Some states have very aggressive laws. File a complaint with the FTC and any other Federal or State agency. They are required to follow the regulations of the US, per the WTO trade agreement. I went to my bank when they refused to comply with my Cease and Desist letter. My bank advised me to close my account. Inform your bank and close your account. Your bank will work with you to move your direct deposits into your new account.
