While my wife was reviewing our AMEX bill a charge for 79.95 was discovered for AEPC Member Services with a phone number of 800-203-6597. I called AMEX customer service and found that the charge was for Food & Wine Connoisuer Membership.

I informed the rep that I had never signed up for that membership and I had no intention of paying for it. This must be an ongoing event as she credited my account with out any hesitation.

It appears that these charges are slipped in, and if you don't audit your bill you end up putting pure profit into their coffers.

I always pay my account in full every month and pay no interest, I wonder if this isn't slipped into other's accounts who like myself, pay no interest. kind of a make up interest plan, just a thought.

It just happened to us. $95. I would think that American Express would have more pride in the company than
doing something like this.

It just happened to me too. And two charges in one month $141.48 & $87.05. That is crazy. I Don't know what is going on with American Express. I just disappointed.

It happened to me too. A charge of $79.99 out of nowhere. Called AMEX and they credited it back.

We just had this happen for a SECOND TIME. AE is supposed to be better than this...which is why their fees are more expensive than V and MC.

Are they trying to get my to cancel my card????
