Alan D Freer a Los Vegas estate planning attorney stole $400,000. From Lenard Cropht who was my grandfather. My grandfather lived in Las Vegas and passed away in 2009. I was serving in Iraq when grandfather became sick, which paved the way for Alan Freer and Jared Shafer to take over his estate. Alan Freer was the attorney, and Jared Shafer was the guardian. When I returned from serving my country in 2008, I did so to take care of grandfather. Freer and Shafer threw up numerous obstacles in the family court. They stated it was because I was not a Nevada resident, a ploy, which Freer uses to harm and take from innocent families who want to care for their senior relatives. Freer billed the estate for $250,000 to stop my grandfather from receiving care from his family. Jared Shafer took the rest in so-called guardian fees, which were used to keep Lenard isolated and away from family and friends. We had 5 court appearances. I lost every one. My attorney Shelly Krohn told me she couldn't understand what was going on. I learned later from Mr. Freer Ms. Krohn really represented Jared Shafer at the same time I was paying her to represent me. Other families fighting the Las Vegas family court have had a similar experience.
The defining answer came to me on January 28, 2009. While eating at the Out Back stake house in Las Vegas I ran into Mr. Freer. He had been drinking heavily. I asked him about the purpose and reasons for what he was doing. Freer remarked, I make my living taking money from families like yours. The people running this town have the process completely fixed. Consider your situation as a local speed trap. The best thing for you to do is pay the nice people and move on. Instead of taking hundreds, Shafer and I take millions. Freer remarked, oh if you haven't guest, Shelly Krohn works for Shafer. The fact Krohn works for us makes it a fun way to make a living. Shafer loves the family struggle and I enjoy the money, after all I am Jewish.
The arrogant attitude of Freer's statements opened my eyes. Freer bills $15,000 per month for doing nothing. Freer simply files the same papers with the court over and over again; he calls it attorney work product. The filings are submitted with a sense of entitlement. Shafer and Freer feel they are above the law and nothing will ever stop them. I'm posting this report because one day this entire family court scam will fall. Our group has over 50 traumatized families who have stories similar to my own. Many of them have posted their stories to blogs and other guardian abuse websites. Nevada law enforcement can only ignore this problem for so long. The dam will burst. If anyone reading this report has been ripped off by a guardian similar to Jared Shafer or a Las Vegas attorney like Alan D Freer, immediately contact law enforcement. Let them know what is going on. The old saying of the final straw that broke the camel's back is alive and well in the twenty-first century.
