Basically, I am a 19 y old college student looking for work, so I happened to hear about this 'job' on snagajob.com. They were hiring for doorman and lobby attendants. I applied and the very next day I recieved a message (Shucks I deleted the number and message later because I was so pissed) saying he (im sorry guys I should have wrote down his name) recieved my application and to call him back soon as possible. When I got in touch with him, it started to look shady.
First, he says they were only hiring for front desk security, which is not what they posted online. He also asked me if I can come tommorow and told me the standard list of items I would need. My ss card, photo ID, and an optional resume. I was cool with that. He then said so that they can train me I will need an 80$ deposit. I said that I cant bring the money tommorrow, to which he then replied 'ok call me when you have it.' The entire time he was vague and when I asked him if I am hired where exactly where I work, to which he responds 'in Manhattan' then hung up. WTF? I guess you can call me young and foolish, but I was actually still going to go through with it.
That was until I happened on to this site and I read the complaints of two other victims on this site. Their names are @Erinanne29 and @Mystasmo0th. Now what I found out is AFTER you pay the 80$ fee to get trained, they then ask you to pay fir made up certificates that have nothing to do with working security. First and foremost, you recieve your license in the mail, YOU DO NOT NEED CERTIFICATES TO WORK SECURITY!!! Stay away from Allianz security if you know whats good for you! And thank you so much to the good people on this site and especially to @Erinanne29 and @Mystasmo0th for opening my eyes. You saved me from falling victim to their scam and for that I am eternally grateful.
