Alpine Access DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! Internet
14th of Jun, 2011 by User664045
I wish I would have checked my favorite site - Ripoff Report - before starting the very long and intentionally arduous process of completing an application on Alpine Access' website. There are tutorials, tests, Alpine employee testimonials, simulated customer service calls and an essay to answer. After spending a total of eight hours or more on the Alpine Access recruiting website, my final result was: No jobs available. I think the job postings on various internet websites are probably to drum up media attention or business for Alpine Access, because it certainly is NOT geared toward the typical applicant who doesn't have 8 - 10 hours to spend for tutorials, extensive testing and simulators to get a job. I guess it is a "plus" for me that they did not "accept" me (or, as was indicated, they did not have a job for me) because I too would have been disappointed to have paid $50 for a credit report, and then waste the first 6 or 7 hours of work (at eight dollars an hour) recooping that cost! Please don't waste your time with this company (unless you know someone on the inside that can help you get the job!). The testimonial videos from current employees now seem so feigned and phoney. They all had very nice offices, and now I am reading that Alpine pays as little as $8 per hour?! ReallY? I think it would be less cruel if Alpine simply asked the applicant to take the psychological tests first and then give the results (i.e., "No Jobs Available") instead of forcing people to go through the hoops that they have constructed for their recruiting process. Now I'm on Ripoff Report giving Alpine an unfavorable review, so how much did Alpine gain by making me spend 8 - 10 hours to complete the recruiting process? Zero. I would never recommend them and in fact would not work for the company if they asked me (after reading the reviews of past employees on Ripoff Report's website). I guess the moral is: always do your research before getting caught in a snare!

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that your application experience was less than positive. As an Alpine Access employee, I have been through the application process for a customer care professional position and understand the time commitment that’s involved, and the frustration that can come from learning there are no positions available.

The Alpine Access application system is unique in that it is designed to match candidates with specific client program needs. It does this by combing through each applicant’s profile, looking for certain skill sets, certifications, work experience, education, etc., plus evaluating the information gathered through the online exercises. Based off the information gathered, it matches candidates to specific pre-determined criteria, supplied by clients to ensure the right fit. Unfortunately, if a client that we have openings for needs employees with financial services experience and a Series 6 certification and a candidate has neither, then the system identifies it as no match. However, this doesn’t mean the candidate couldn’t be the right fit for the next new client or program.

While I’m sorry there were no positions available for you at the time you applied, I can assure you that the Company does not post jobs to drum up media attention or business. It simply believes in matching the right people to the right program, even if the process takes a little longer. If you are not matched to a position right away we encourage you to keep checking back as new positions are posted frequently.

sorry user664045 ... sounds like sour grapes to me. I have not yet applied at Alpine, but intend to. From your rant, and knowing how hard it is to match employees - most especially virtual people - I can understand why the intensive application process did not choose you. You have to work to get things in life - 'sacrificing' just a few hours, or a few dollars, to try to make it is no big deal. Ditto to your moral statement, last line ... you were researched and the company was not caught by a whiney employee ... I like my coworkers to work as hard as I do - thank you. You might want to try contractxchange - they have pizza order taker jobs there.

Really sucks that you feel that way, however, there are over 2500 with this company. Myself being one. I have been with this company for a year and half and have been several different roles. You got the "No jobs available" because there was nothing at that time that matched what you have put in. Just like you can apply to Wal-Mart, submit to their testing to not even get the courtesy of "We have no jobs available." I have not been on rip off report but the posts there are probably by people who couldn't pass a credit check or actually pass any of the training.

Arise is NOT a scam, nor a joke! If you are going to be dealing with sensitive client information, wouldn't you like to know as a customer, they don't just let anyone in??? Not saying you are just anyone, but I'm actually impressed at what Alpine Access goes through, to ensure, at least on the front end, that they are hiring people with integrity. When I applied to Alpine, the first part of July, I have now since actually been hired, I actually enjoyed going through the tutorials and listening to the employees who didn't sound rehearsed to me. After successfully completing the assessments, I was sent a total of 8 offers for positions, but refused them because they worked in the evenings, on days that would not work for me. Alpine Access DID NOT give up. They happened to send one particular position, where most companies would have viewed my denials as not interested and would have stopped sending me offers. Not Alpine! I found a position with work hours and days off that I could manage much better, than previously offered. You don't pay for a credit check. You pay $45 for the background check, yes, non-refundable, but this did not bother me, as I did not pay for my drug testing. Again, do you want just anyone viewing your personal data? Credit cards, etc.? Alpine Access has an actual brick and mortar office building, nice I might add, in Denver, CO. They don't hire contractors, they hire actual employees. You have access to medical healthcare and other benefits.

While I understand the initial process for you was painful, nothing really worth it, comes easy. In my opinion, they are one of the better, legitimate work from home agencies I have come into contact with. I have refused most others, as I don't work for just anyone. To me, it goes both ways for both the employer and the potential employee. $8/ hr to start and $9 or more, once training is successfully completed, is far better than $0 dollars per hour. No office politics, no commute, as a mother, I am in the home, even though my child is in preschool, I am close by. You must do a cost/benefits analysis with anything. To me, it goes both ways for both the employer and the potential employee. Hope you have better or have had better success in this tough economy.
