After my family lost our health insurance, I was online searching for affordable health care. I filled out this form online and several companies called me . Most of the were actual health insurance companies and very expensive. Then this company called me and offered their service which is not actual insurance, but discount of up to $60% off doctor's, hospitals and dental bills. I signed up for two years, $340. was billed to my credit card. After I paid the money and tried to use the card, I could not use it anywhere as no-one accepted it or even knew about it, so I called the company and asked why, then I was told that the doctors I saw had to be the ones on their list. I would never go to these doctors because I have never heard of them or their services. Two years went by and I accepted my loss in spending $340. that I could never benefit from. Today I was paying my credit card bill online and saw a $340. charge from American Health Advantage which I never authorized. I immediately and spoke to a Rachael and asked them to refund my money since I never asked for a renewal of this useless membership. She was very aggressive and said I never cancelled my membership and therefore not entitled to a refund. I said I will call the credit card company and dispute the charge, she said we'll see about that. I said I was looking at all the consumer complaints on the internet and would print them all and file a complaint to the Florida Attorney General's Office and Consumer Affairs, she said do whatever I have to. I am very upset that this company is allowed to scam customers like this and get away with it. I will b filing a complaits with these government offices and if anyone out there would like to join me, feel welcome.
