I am trying to sell a N810 online via craigslist. I wanted to be paid through paypal and have the person pick the pda up in person. I got a letter from "Anie Foden" asking that I mail it. I thought "as long as they are paying first, I don't mind", and went ahead with preparingto ship. Then they wrote this: Great,I will like to proceed with the purchasing of the item,I just hope the condition is just as it is described in the Ad?At the moment,I can only pay via PayPal,I will be responsible for the shipping charges,because I can not meet for the exchange. Your item is been purchase on behalf of my associate ,who needs this urgently.Please send your paypal e-mail address so I can pay.USPS EXPRESS MAIL SERVICE is the preferred shipping option.I would be glad if my request is favorably considered.

But I went ahead to the post office and set up to ship it. I emailed the tracking # to that email plus the guy and got this: From:

Me That is not an express mail service mate... It will never deliver . You made use of the cheapest mail service.Please upgrade it

and this: Go and add up to it --- That's when I checked the email of the "paypal" letters and realized I needed to call the post office and stop shipment. Which I did. I'll get a refund for the shipping on monday. Don't let this happen to you.

| Thank you for sharing! This information actually confirmed a gut feeling I had about an item I was contacted about that I was selling on Craigslist. This person stated their name was Roy Blake from Arizona & that he wanted to purchase my item for his son & ship it to his son who was away at college out of state. He said he would pay using Paypal which at first I thought all seem fine, then he stated he would take care of the shipping cost by using his FedEx account to have a carrier come pick up the item from me all I had to do was wrap & label to be sent to : Eric Blake. No 3, housing estate Abeokuta Ogun State 23439 Nigeria. This is when bells started going off and I started to google all the different Nigeria scams and this came up. So thank you! |
