ARCO REFUSED to give me the gas i paid for... Wilmington, California

I had to put gas in my car and knowing that the heat of these california summers wasnt the best time i decided to put only 20$ and wait till morning to top it off. I have thing for getting gas when its cool. So i go to this Arco (which i choose over two others gas station because i trusted the Arco name- proved me wrong) pull into pump 4, pay for gas and start pumping gas. Well to my surpise i hear the gas but nothings coming out. The nozzels empty the numbers arnt rolling nothing. So i walk back in explain my issue and the cashier request i move up to pump 2. I agree move and continue there. I start again.. I hear the gas, i see the numbers rolling but feel nothing. My thought wow thats weird the numbers are rolling it must be giving gas. I put everything back jump in my car start to drive and nothing my gas gadge isnt reading anything. I drive around the block & nothing i turn off my car and restart it and nothing... So i decided to go back the first pump was broken maybe this one is too? I go and explain my situation again to the cashier she informs me that the machine is saying that it gave 5 gals so i did get my gas. I say okay let me check again maybe its taking a sec to read thats weird tho never had that happen. I check again and nothing.. I start walking back and i ask an employee to check and he does and he tells me "yeah its not showing your gas go ask to talk to a manager." Hes a machanic working there. I walking in and the cashier already knew; she said while picking up the phone im calling the manager. A little lady walks out and says whats the problem the cashier tells her im having problems with the two pumps i explain to the lady every thing and she replys that my cars gadge is broken. I tell her it shouldnt be.. and ask if they check them here. Her- No we only replace them. Me- You Dont check them?? So how do you know their Broken without checking them? Her- their not going to drop your tank for free? Me- i can pay.. Her- maybe theres dirt in your gadge and its stuck. Me- how would i know? any suggestions? Her-Put More gas Me- and if it reads the 10 put then its not broken are you going to give me the 5 gals i already paid for. Her- NO!! Me- Why not? i payd for it. Her- You got the gas. (i argue with her about my car for the next ten min she says everything from my cars broken to i know nothing about my car. I tell her everything about my car. please im no naive girl. Plain Janes know trucks too.) I told her i respect what shes saying but hows is it known that the right amount of gas was coming out? her reply was weights and measures. i asked when was the last time they were serviced she said monthly. I asked when exatly she didnt answer. Then i told her id have faith in the gas station if my original pump had worked. I explained that i would have called my husband and said hunny somthings wrong with our car if somthign gave me reason to. But somthing was wrong with the gas pump. she didnt give in. i told her if i prove by a machanic that nothings wrong with my car will she give me my gas. Still no. I told her that if i report it and they findthat im not at fault wil i get my monies worth. Still no. so after about twent min if nonsence i leave take my car to a machanic and they tell me theres no way that i just put gas in. I go to my husband he takes my car and at 5am he fills it at a random gass station and 76 to fill it. So thats 21 gals. and i already had gas in it. hum i think not. regaurdless they refused to refund my monies or give me gas bought. 20$ Should have given a quarter and a half from where i started and nope....Arcos doing somthing funny. I gave many different ways to prove my tank was fine and they didnt care. Its bad enough oil co rob us now the small time business owners.
