AT&T Raising Your Rates Dallas, Texas

Well, consumers get ready for the bend-over treatment from AT&T again. I just received an email informing me of the updates to their TOS. Among the many changes they are making one is included that will force consumers to pay excessively higher rates for internet access by forcing them into a change from DSL service to their extremely expensive U-Verse service. They have been pushing their U-Verse service in my immediate area for the past two years, to the point of making themselves a nuisance with sales calls and junk mail about the service. They charge four times the amount for U-Verse as simple DSL service. I guess they couldn't get enough suckers to take them up on the U-Verse 'deal', so now they are going to try to force consumers into the higher pricing bracket. To heck with AT&T and paying their outrages rates. I think I'm going to cancel my land line, cancel my cell phone, and cancel my internet services with them. I can go to the library for free internet access. I can get a pay-as-you go cell phone from any number of companies besides AT&T or any of their affiliates. And I can live without a land line. I do not appreciate any corporation trying to dictate to me what services I must have and increasing the rates to provide services I don't even want or need. It's ridiculous! If everybody would just say "NO" and cancel their services with AT&T, they might figure out who their customers are and that without loyal customers they have ZERO profit.
