| ATA Taekwondo DON'T SIGN THEIR CONTRACTS!!!! Portage, Indiana |

| I signed my daughter up at the Portage, IN ATA in March 2007 on a 6 month contract at $99 per month. In August or September 2007, Mr. Garcia also of the Portage, Indiana ATA asked if I wanted to sign her up for a more advanced class. (Sidenote: I immediately felt like it was a sales pitch and a scam and shouldve followed my first mind and walked out.) I inquired as to the time of the classes, and was told that he could not find a schedule at that time, but he believed that the classes would be around the same time as the class that she was already in. I signed her up, but when I arrived home to see that the times of the classes conflicted with my work schedule, I called Mr. Garcia immediately (around noon) and left a message stating that I would not be able to make those class times and requested that he NOT fax over the new contract, which he said he would not be doing until later that evening. I called back that following Monday to make sure that he had received my message, but again, never got a call back. For the next 3-4 months, the fees ($125/month now) were withdrawn from my bank account, which let me know that my calls to Mr. Garcia and the Portage ATA were ignored. I then called Mr. Johnson, also of Portage ATA, multiple times and those messages to resolve this issue also were ignored, however, the withdrawals mysteriously stopped, but the next month I began receiving bills requesting payment. I continued to try to get some resolution and/or explanations on my account through their collection agency, SCS, until June 2008 when I was told that my account had been inactivated. All communication from them ceased at after that e-mail. On 5/9/2011, almost 3 years later, I received an irate phone call at work stating that they were prepared to sue me for the balance due! I will be also be reporting them to the BBB. BEWARE!!!!!!! |

| This is ridiculous ..the schoolwas sold in may 2009 and I am the new owner I never called you, as amatter of fact all the previous clients were released with no further collections. Maybe you should check your facts before you go posting these things . The school has been under new ownership for 2 years no ties tot he previous owners at all...this is a lie |

| I am furious that anyone can write a negative comment about a business without any valiidty at all, and it is up for all the world to read. I am so furious over this that I am going to find out who wrote this comment and sue them for defamation of charachter and gross interferance with a business. The facts are that the corp this person is complaining about was closed and sold in 2008, has been under new ownership ever since. And yes people if you sign a contract you are liable for the amount you signed for. By law you have 3 business days to cancel it by submitting in writing to the company your reason. I use the exact same membership contracts as the previous owner and it is right there above the signature line. Here is an example of someone who is out for blood because she failed to fufill her end of the agreement. Listen lady the people youa re complaining about havent had anything to do with the school or the ata in years. Mr Johnson has a new school in a different location nad Mr Garcia is no longer in business. They most likely sold your contract to a collections company. What you did was post a complaint on a board where anyone can see it and you have interfered with my ability to do good business. I suggest this comment be removed immediatly as my attorney will be notified and since there is no truth to your statement or any connection to myself the new owner I am sure that action can be taken. I am a single mom working my buitt off to make Portage a better place for the kids in the community. How dare you post something like this without checking the facts. Telling people not to sign up at a place that you have never been to, or done any business with. The only thing that remains the same at this location is the phone number. We are a completley new entity and I am outraged that you felt the need to slander my name. I teach integrity and discipline things you obviously know nothing about! |
