Scam operation contacts people in the news and claims they are from the Bio Channel and would like to cover your story on an upcoming show related to your topic. I had a recent press release in the news regarding health. They named their company BIOGRAPHY to seem related to the Bio Channel. It's a different web site entirely . The short story is that shows like Bio don't ask you to cover production costs for the story, in this case $29,300 plus $3000 in travel costs. There were reds flags; 1. He is based in FL not NY or LA, the TV hubs. 2. the 'company' phone was answered by VM. 3. His email was technically shoddy looking without the famous "Bio" logo. Beware of this scan. I was recently contacted by a company that may be involved in the same or similar scam.

Company is Biography and when their phones are answered (Recorded message) the message speaks of a company called The Production Company.

I have spoken to a "Producer" whose name is Duane Masters.. He claims they are in Florida and the pitch sounds quite similar. Costs are almost dead on. $3000 Travel expense. Then $18, 000 for the production.
