Blackwater Cats - Donovan Pearase
Poor Business Ethics and He is a Crook

I recently hired Donovan Pearase of Blackwater Cats for a fall Walleye guide on Lake of the Woods. I spoke with him on the phone for at least 20 minutes planning all the details of our trip. He then prompted for me to pay a deposit on his website through Paypal.

We show up at a gas station on the hwy in Winnipeg on the day we had discussed where he is suppose to pick us up for the day. And he never shows up. Here I am standing like an idiot with a client from out of town for over an hour waiting for my guide.

After 90 minutes 2 dozen phone calls and a few hundred text messages we gave up and left. I have been trying to reach Mr. Pearase for over 2 weeks trying to get my deposit returned. I have been told there is no refunds.

I have contacted Paypal to get a refund. However I have been informed that do to the nature of the transaction. Paypal offers no Buyer protection.

I have contacted the BBB only to find out he is not even a registered business in Manitoba.

Donovan Pearase is a scam artist who prays on sports fisherman. Buyer Beware.
