Unbelievable!!!!!!! Under our own noses, during your time of unprecedented stress and confusion......hitting straight to the heart of the American way of life. "Your home" The sanctity of home violated. Thieves preying on YOU.
We were told tonight that we must give them, thousands more, thousands, if we ever want to get our possessions back. They were paid in full when all the furniture we own left with them in November 2010.
This company gives you a reasonable affordable moving quote on line, based on your description of what home furnishings to be moved. Engineered by a master criminal knowing, that the home owner has absolutely no idea of what a sofa, chair, bed or any other house hold furnishings weigh. They give you moments on the phone to verify your contents. Moving day is when it all begins. You have new owners rolling in behind your truck as it's leaving. You have legal appointments to deal with, kids, pets, and school, everything including cleaning quickly for the new home owners.
These guys show up late, on purpose. The driver cannot even properly drive the rig. Horrendous, reversing, abilities. They make sure that they cannot stay within the 75 foot agreement quote price. They have no equipment, no tools, no flashlights, no booties, not even water for themselves. They quickly take all of the contents of your home out onto your lawn or driveway in an oddly disorganized way. Not one single room at a time, which would make catalog sense. (On purpose, by the way) Their forms are not legible, with names scratched out, and numbers altered and scribbled over and over. Multiple companies, on the forms, with multiple addresses. None of which match the truck or trailer. This trailer was a Mayfield and tractor was unidentified.
Once your belongings are dismantled, at nearly midnight, youre told the fee will be triple what was quoted. No turning back, you try to compromise. We did not do much compromising, instead chose to take the balance of the boxes, glass and other complicated things on our own by U Haul the next day.
We were appalled by the lack of English or communication abilities. We were appalled by the constant attack for more money. We were disgusted by the tactics being used against us for more funds. The forms are a muddle of lack of educated English and basic mathematical skills. Now, we know, on purpose. You feel that you might be insulting their national, racial, linguistic, or religious heritage. Therefore you do not correct them or insist on corrected proper documentation.
Thats only the beginning. Off goes everything you own. With Strangers. But you have documentation to prove its yours, right? Wrong. The forms did not duplicate, because there was no carbon foil between the sheets. You are handed nearly blank forms, which are supposed to be your furnishing check list. Oh, yes! You dont even get that till you have paid in full!
In our case it was two thirty in the morning. Our young children long asleep in the vehicle, which by the way was providing the light for the movers to light their way to their truck. The truck did not even have lights. Everything felt wrong. Our stomachs told us this is wrong. The truck didnt start; the driver had no idea what to do. An hour later, with assistance the truck finally started. The drama was not yet over. The driver could not back the rig up, at all. Jack knifed in the driveway, and across the road, the inexperienced driver had no choice but to go forward. At nearly three am, we finally could get our van in front of the truck to show them back to the highway.
Now Four months later, after countless emails, calling and calling, we finally tricked them into returning our call. We demanded that we get our furniture. They are not where the say they are. Our furnishings were not in Alpharetta, GA. We are at a loss for words. Is everything we own gone sold disappeared?? We cannot get a straight answer from anyone. We cannot check on our furnishings. We are now finding out that this nightmare is also a huge scam and we may never see our families entire possessions again. We have an empty new home. Now, we are told that we must give them, thousands more, thousands, if we ever want to get our possessions back. This has to be illegal. Alex, has told us call the police, so what! There must be a system to protect the public. HELP! Our kids and us are sleeping on air mattresses. We have NO furniture, appliances, cloths or family personal possessions.
