I have been to Broadway Auto Credit twice. The first time in the mid-90's. The first car that I purchased there was crap. After 2 weeks of owning this vehicle, numerous problems started to happen with it. I put over $3000 dollars in the car during the 26 month loan. They have a warranty on the vehicle where you pay $100 deductible and they cover the repair. I took it in for an alternator, and you would think that they would at least put in a decent re-built alternator, but that one looked like it came from another car or a salvage yard and didnt work for nothing. Every time I brought in, something would happen to the car shortly after I got it back. Bizarre. Fast forward. I got divorced and my wife took our new car. I needed a vehicle so I went to Broadway Auto Credit, thinking maybe they started to care about what was being sold. You go there and first meet Hope who works in the sales, she gets you approved, then you go pick a vehicle. They are all high mileage. Once you select one you take it for a test drive and not far. Hope looked a little uneasy during my test drive around the block, she looked almost like she was hoping the vehicle wouldnt break down. If you test drive the vehicles there, take them for a drive. Go on the highway, try the cruise control, take it through town. The future issues with that vehicle may start to show themselves. They say the mechanics make any necessary repairs, but there is no serious money invested in those vehicles. Thats for the buyer to deal with. In my opinion they are patched up with duct tape and bubble gum to meet the minimum state standard to make it on the lot. Once you go do the paperwork, the tone changes. At that time you are treated like someone with credit issues. They tell you about that bullshit warranty and told me when I was there that if they have to fix it, it will be done as cheap as possible. They are not kidding. They will tell you that they report to the credit bureaus monthly, and they do. What they dont tell you is how they report it. You make weekly payments. Say you pay $84 dollars per week for 124 weeks. You would think that each payment would be shown on the credit report, but it is not. They would report the terms as $380 per month for 29 months. That is what shows up on your report. Not the $84 per week and getting credit for each payment. What is on your contract and what they report are 2 different things, but if you are late on a weekly payment, they will come after you like you missed a monthly payment. The second vehicle I got had this happen in 5 weeks. Windows came down and didnt work, transmission began to fail, inside of the vehicle would fill with carbon monoxide. I had my daughter riding in this. The brakes had to be replaced after 2 weeks. Any average mechanic would spot low pads ahead of time, but let the buyer pay for it. Oil leaks. So I let them take it. I saved money by doing that. That vehicle was not safe. I was looking at thousands in repairs and who knows what else. These mechanics see this stuff coming, but like they said " as cheap as possible. Look, save your money. If you have to go there, keep the service sticker in the window and have your car inspected right away at a garage to make sure it matches up with there bullshit inspection. They will tell you when looking at the vehicles that you cant take it in for inspection before you buy. They say that for a reason. If you have a credit issue, save your money. With enough, you can get financed with a dealer or buy from a private party. What happens to there vehicles at least the ones I have had is just bizarre and wrong, especially once they look at it. Its a safety issue to, which in my opinion is too bad. One more thing, see where they get these so called loans. I think they are phantom loans. Just a number agreed upon and you pay it down. No bank is that dumb to put up that kind of money on vehicles like that. If any one else has a story about buying there, please add to this
