I met with Lisa Zimmerman, owner of C Ford Transport to lease on as a car hauler. She assured me that I would average $1 per mile per vehicle. With my life savings I bought a used Dodge 1 ton for $25,000(put down $5000) and bought a new two car hauler for $14500. I lost money hauling for my first two weeks as I was sent to transport cars that were abandoned or in storage as her brother in law quit and abandoned his 3 car hauler with 3 cars in Nebraska. I borrowed tow thousand for fuel for these two weeks. I then hauled two SUV's from Austin to Tuscon and two trucks from Phoenix to Eagle Pass Texas the following week for which I was to be paid just under $3000. The same week I also hauled two cars from Nuevo Laredo to Houston. I was never paid for any of these. The billing was 30 days )check mailed 17th June) today is July 12th. The next week I hauled multiple vehicles fro Texas to Iowa, Nebraska and S Dakota. I was averaging 600 miles per day and spending $250 on fuel each day. My return trip fromS Dakota to Houston hauling two full size autos(rate was 34 cents per mile) which wouldnt even cover my costs. This was to pay $1000. I have sent demand letter and left numerous messages with Lisa Zimmerman to no effect. I am owed over $6000 and with this I am still losing money. What a great scam. Lease on drivers and work them to death for a few months and not pay them..Of course police and DA's office say its a civil matter. I stated it is also criminal under Texas Penal Code 31.04 (Theft of service).
ec. 31.04. THEFT OF SERVICE. (a) A person commits theft of service if, with intent to avoid payment for service that he knows is provided only for compensation:(1) he intentionally or knowingly secures performance of the service by deception, threat, or false token;(2) having control over the disposition of services of another to which he is not entitled, he intentionally or knowingly diverts the other's services to his own benefit or to the benefit of another not entitled to them.
Be aware. I am not the first to be ripped off by C Ford Transport and probably not the last

I am having a similar experience with Lisa Zimmerman, owner of C Ford Transport. I was a builder in Colorado before the housing industry tanked, and decided to try a different line of work. We were struggling, but decided in Nov. 2011 to purchase a new truck for $25K and a two car hauler. Again, Lisa stated that she would get the best paying loads. She was totally unreliable in getting decent paying loads and many of the loads didn't pay for the fuel to transport the cars to another state.

On Feb. 27th, I noticed a shackle was broken on my trailer and I was supposed to pick up a load the next day. I knew it wasn't safe to transport anything until it was repaired. So, I called Lisa as soon as I could to let her know. She had me drive 200 miles out of the way the next morning to check out the car and move it to an auction for easy pickup when my trailer was fixed. When I got close to the pickup location, I was told that the car could not be moved prior to transport due to the importance of the automobile. I told Lisa that I would pick it up the next day and could guarantee that it would reach it's destination of San Antonio by the deadline. There was absolutely no reason that I couldn't have made the deadline. However, the following morning I was told that I was terminated and that she had gotten another transport company to take the load. She later admitted that they had not gotten the load there in time.

She sent an official termination letter 5 days later. She stated that because another C Ford Transport company driver had damaged his loads of Feb 29th (the day of my termination), she didn't need to pay me the $2400 she owes me. We believe that she had let the business insurance lapse and used my money to pay for the damages that the other driver had. She terminated 2 other drivers on the same day and owes them $3800 as well.

Lisa Zimmerman claims to be a christian woman that would never steal from anyone, but as you can see this is exactly what she is doing to multilple people. Please don't let her scam you as well. If you are a driver, transport broker, dealer or individual, please don't use her services and let her steal from anyone else.

If you have had a similar experience, it's time to say, "No more!". The police are now investigating her for Theft of Service in Corsicana. We can also ban together to file a class action civil suit as well. Don't allow people like Lisa Zimmerman to commit any more theft!
