easy prey for deceptive sales consultants

We went to Centex/Pulte homes in Buda Tx (Sunfield community) To look at new house models.eventually we settled on a house.I filled out a form letter with salary and bill information Unknown to me the information was sent to a mortgage company contracted by Pulte mortgage and Pulte homes. We came back to the sales office and found that were prequalified. Normally prequalified indicates the price range you can afford and further qualification or documentation is not required,Not so the salesman pushed a multipage document in fornt of us and indicated where to sign and intial.(document being a purchase job initiation agreement,hereafter called a purchase agreement)The purchase document a complex legal document needed to be read however as always the trust is placed in the sales consultant who really does,t have your best interest in heart.
You can chosse your own mortage company, However we were told Pulte mortgagehad a good deal with incentatives and money towards closing costs. We put down a 500 dollar earnert money deposit at the time.Money that was cashed in a few days. Eventally we were told we had to pay a deposit on a Jucuzzi we wanted as part of the free incentages. We wanted VA financing . and weren,t told that there was a origination fee added to the price of the house.
Dealing with Pulte mortgage is a chore. You are emailed by a team assistant,Clled by a loan consultant anf then a loan processor. (Pulte mortgage being located in Colorado.)
So your never informed about changes. Alot of deception goes on with the sales consultant and Pulte mortgage .After iall itst left up to you to examine each and every loan document. As far as VA origination fee A manager from Pulte homes said we should have known about the origination fee. There is even a document in the loan papers saying Pulte is not responsible to inform you about changes

You're buying a house, and you just want to sign on a dotted line? What do you think caused the housing crash? That's why you have to provide so much documentation these days. If buying a house is a "chore" then maybe you shouldn't be buying a house to begin with. It's a commitment, not something you can pick up at the grocery store...
