chase Manhattan Bank
chase Manhattan Bank, NY Uncaring, gave me the run around with transfering me to fake supervisor departmets still being the same person Internet, New
27th of Dec, 2010 by User851299
When our mortgage interest rate when up we had problems paying. Appx. 6 months later it seemed it went up again and we were close to getting into forclosure if payments were not paid in full. In several attempts trying to get some help in lowering the payments somehow.

I was informed by letter they had an assistance program to help homeowners not get into forclosure. All Igotwas the run around. Transfering me to bogus help supervisor departments (who sounded like the same person, with the same background noise). Being put on hold and disconnected more than once.

Eventually, I was put in forclosure and had three months till I would be forclosed on February 31, 2003 (approxiately). Later, I called them and told them I was selling my home. I still received notices by mail from Chase Manhattan Bank, N.Y. of reminder of my forclosure.

I luckily sold my home and it closed approximately two days before Feb. 31. It took a while to get the money from escrow because CMB was taking a long time to give me the moneyIwas told. So some indemnity contract was made up for the total that was to be given to me. Days later I got a small check. I was living in a motel with my family.

I had asked the escrow for an itemized list of the deductions and they complied. I was told the title company wasfrom CMB or they had chosen them. I thought this was odd. Later, I find that CMB charged me for approximately five months of mortgage ending in June 2003 (which I did not occupy).

I thought this error from CMB was because they wanted me to stay in forclosure, but I sold my home instead.

The Dept. of Real State said they had nothing to do with the issue. The escrow people say speak to your agent. I got all my paper work and a lawyer could not help me because I did not have enough money.

I ended up filing a phone complaint with the Federal Trade Commission that I wanted my approximate 6,000.00 back that was overcharged by CMB. If I did not receive it back,at least my complaint was there,if others had gone through a similar experience like I did. I never got any response from the FTC, I think this is the procedure. I was told to call back anytime to update.

If I can get my money back, this would be very helpful in this hard economic times.
