citimortgage Assured of modification, told to not worry about forclosure notices, house forclosed Frederick, Maryland

I have been reading the reports on Citimortgage, who is, was my mortgage lender. After going through a horrible divorce 3 years ago, losing my job and being sole provider for my 3 children01, I was having a hard time finncially. I managed to pay my mortgage for a year on time, then I was forced to decide between paying the mortgage or eating, so I promptly called Citimortgage requesting a loan modification as I was working again and starting to try to make my financial situation beter so I could pay my bills.
I sent in my packet, which was lost twice???and it took over 8 months before I was approved for a modification. My payments were lowered from a 7.5 rate to a 3.0 rate making a $1000 difference in my payment. I paid for 4 months on time and my fifth payment was sent back. They said this was a trial modification and for it to be a permanent modification I hd to send in a document they said they didnt recieve. I sent it in. It took almost 2 months before anyone could seem to help me, I was told that the paperwork had expired and I had to remit a whole new packet and 18000.00 in cashiers check to redo the modification. I sent in the money. I was assigned many different reps to handle this and could never get in touch with any of them. I started getting forclosure notices from their attorney. I called everyday until I was assigned a rep., Melissa Ramirez who did keep in contact with me at least at first. From January until Mar. of this year I submitted the package 2 more times, then was told I had to send in this document, then another that had never been requested. I maintained contact and told every service person and Melissa about how the house was going to be forclosed on if this didnt get a move on, and everyone assured me that it would be fine, the lawyer had to send me the letters, not to worry, the loan would be modified and everything would be fine. My forclosure date was for the second tuesday in April. By mid-march, I couldnt get in contact with melissa. I called almost daily, left voicemails, spoke with other agents who emailed her, Emailed her myself all to no avail. I was told the week before the sale not to worry, one paper hadnt come through, and fax it asap, because the fax machine took 24-48 hours to scan it and put in the system which is crap. Melissa was still hadling my account and although I never got to speak to her after march, the reps I was getting were IMing her while I was on the phone. I was told as soon as they got my fax the forclosure would be called off, and was give the mitigation fax and Melisssa's fax to send this paper to so it would be looked out for. I sent the fax first thing Sat. am after being informed late Friday night of the missing paper, and faxed it as soon as the fax store opened. I called Citi to let them know it was sent.
Monday morning I called, well past the 24 -36 hours it supposedly took to be put it the system and was told not to worry, they didnt have it scanned yet, but everything would be fine and the sale would be called off. I once again asked for Melissa and got no response. Tues. am I called, and the paper was recieved, but I had called Melissa's line first and her message said she was out of town from Mon. until Thurs. I called the modification dept. told them my story and why hadnt anyone called the lawyer to let him know not to sell the house. They informed me the sale had happened 5 minutes ago, and that no one had been looking out for the fax or knew to call the lawyer since Melissa was handling it. Needless to say my house was sold.
I aske3d to speak with supervisor who got on the phone and said there was nothing he could do, fannie mae had bought the house back as there were no buyers for it. I wasnt satisfied so I called back and got Kevin who was a huge help and told me about citis department that can get a house back for the owner in situations like this and I had until June 6th to get the house back.
I called the other department and was told that I needed to call melissa on thurs. and she would be able to have the forclosure rescinded. I called melissa thurs. am, she answered the phone and told me there was nothing she could do. Well, I had been told otherwise so I again called the modification department and got a gentleman by the name of Brian who spent a lot of time loking over my account and brought it to the attention of a supervisor. This supervisor said by reading my records itwas obvious that this sale shouldnt have taken place, and he promptly emailed Fannie Mae letting them know what hapened and asking for the loan to be rescinded. To date I call every few days and there has still been no response from Fannie Mae. I called Fannie Mae, got a gentleman on the second tier named Roy. After explaining my situation he emailed the main office who would be going over the request, asking for the rescindment and to speed up the process as I didnt have a lot of time. To date, I am told They will call me when they hear something.
I feel I was led along for this to happen. My trust was used against me, and by the way, Citi has no record of the 18,000 I sent in last year, conveniently enough.
Does anyone have any ideas? We really want to keep this house as we have had it for 8 years and this is the only house 2 of my children know. We are in dire straights, I am sick to my stomach and not able to sleep all the time now. I am wodering if this is just another excuse to put me off longer until the sheriff comes and locks us out! Please help!!!!
