CitiMortgage CitiMortgage never gave us our escrow refund O'Fallon, Missouri

We refinanced our home mortgage with Citimortgage. We used Goldstar Financial in Ann Arbor, MI to obtain a low interest rate for our refinance. We closed on the new mortgage the first week of November 2010. The new mortgage is also with Citimortgage. The problem is that we paid the escrow twice. On our copy of the closing papers it shows that $2,375.23 was deposited into our new escrow account. This amount was rolled into our refinance. There was already a similar amount in our old escrow account. Citi owes us an escrow refund. I spoke on a 3-way call between Citi, our representative at Goldstar Financial and myself in which the supervisor from Citi admitted to owing us this money.

Similar issue and I will never do business with these idiots and thieves again! We paid off our mortgage and they said they get 21 days to process and refund our escrow (fine). The 21 days passed and we called to understand when the refund ck would be cut and they said we would have it no later than 14 days via US mail. Fine, but they obviously hold it at least 10 of the 14 days to draw more interest because it was only 3-4 days via US to us from where the check was to be mailed from. The 14 days came and went. We made 6 phone calls in a week to TRY and get the "actual" date the check was cut and then count the 14 days from there. We got 5 diff dates (one of them twice) in those 6 calls. Nothing but inconsistent lies and information from every person we talked to and even the same from the Mgr once we got him on the line. They all made excuses (or lied) that each one before them did not know what they were saying or doing (a really competent bunch they have working there) and each one promised their information was accurate and the truth, but to date we still have not gotten our money and are calling on a daily basis wasting time at home and at work to get our money. $2000+ is a lot of money these days and these idiots always want our money immediately, but when we want ours it's a 2 month game and they don't live up to their business practices or promises for that matter. I've had 2 mortgages over the yrs with these people and was never once late on a payment. I'm still concerned we'll never get our money, but I'm confident I will never do business with these people again and will continue to post my story on every webpage I can find to deter any new business for them because of the way we've been treated!!!
