I signed up for comcast internet a few years ago. It was supposed to be a special price of $19.99 but it was 45 bucks. The first red flag, but what can you do? There are no other options for high speed internet. (there is a DSL plan around, but it's about the same price as comcast and about as "fast" as dial up.) Then about two years ago I signed up for a $24.99 a month special to ad a TV package. It turned out the $24.99 package is actually $40 so my bill should have been $85 a month. And it was- for ONE month. Then the bill steadily increased every month, even though I had only basic cable and internet and no movie channels, etc. We didn't watch any extra Pay per view or anything else. Mostly just the History Channel. May 2011- $125

July 2011- $138
August 2011- $148
Sept 2011- $149
Oct 2011- 150
Nov 2011- 151 So by now I'm completely fed up and cancelled before I could be billed for December. I took back the equipment and everything. So guess what my bill is this month- internet only, no TV at all? $186.56 Our initial contract was fulfilled years ago so there isn't a cancellation fee. This is SUCH a scam! They shouldn't be able to have a complete monopoly and set the price with no competition allowed.
