| my brother was going through a divorce about 6 yrs ago,his wife moved out,and he was haveing a hard time keeping up his bills,at the time i was renting a small one bdrm apartment,also around this time my youngest son,and his girlfriend found themselves without a place to stay.so i thought if my brother would rent a room to my son,and his girlfriend hat it would give my brother some extra income to help with his bills. He agreed to 400 a mounth. after about 4-5 mounths he recieves a forclosure notice,so i borrowed $5,000,and took over payments on the property,i also find out he hasn't paid his electric bill either and owed almost $1,500 to consumers power,so i went to get the electric put in my name,I explained to them that i was just moving in and if they were going to try to force his bill onto my account,then i didn,t want their service,(they assured me that wouldn,t happen) about 6 mounths later they did just what they assured me they wouldn,t do,impose his delinquent bill on my account,being a man of principle i let them turn my service off rather than pay for something i was not responsible for. The last 3 mounths of winter that year we lived with no power,because someone else didn,t pay their bill.(my brother) since then we have moved,and are now currently renting again,my sons girlfriend had the power turned on in her name,we have been here over a yr now,always kept up with our payments,and now we have a shut off notice,and my brothers bill has been added to my sons girlfriends account. we are being told what they are doing is leagel because she benefited from the power while she was renting a room from him,if people don't do something about this type of billing practice,then it will be just a matter of time before people will be responsible for someone else car payment if they ride share,because they benefited from the use of the vehicle,or employees will be responsible from the use of electric from the place they work.or you,ll be responsible for someone else mortgage if you lived with them,this is extortion,and should not be legel,i urge people to call their governer,and complain about these unfair practices,and not only unfair,but are illegel for anyone else. The proper leagel proceedure is to get a judgment throught the courts,and prove responsibility for a bill,apparently the power companys are the only ones that can place a bill on you based on an assumption of responsibility. Power Companys should be controled and run by the people,or their government,if private ownership of these companys is just going to result in political bribery to have bills passed to catter to themselves.I think its getting about time the people take back control,of this country,and do away with the campaign contributions that politicians get,because they are just bribs. I am not one to sit back and take this kind of crap sitting down,and i urge people to stand up for whats right,and help me fix the proplems that affect us all,prtest,or file complaints with your government officals please. |
