Consumers Survey Research Organization Duncan Finlay Fraudulent Auditor position collecting information through shopping at Wal-Mart, JC Penny, Sears,
13th of Nov, 2011 by User463157
I received a letter signed by one Duncan Finlay, purportedly representing Consumers Survey Research Organization, an alleged affiliate of American Research Group. The envelope included a check in the amount of $1,986.67. Also included were instructions on how to perform an evaluation of shopping experience by depositing the check at your financial institution and then going shopping at Wal-Mart, Sears, JC Penny, Macy's and Walgreens. The letter says you can keep the items you purchase at these retail stores. This is a scam. Do not deposit the check. It is drawn on Denver Community Credit Union, a financial institution, which seems to be legit at a first glance (at least the routing number checks out). But a scam is a scam. Beware.
