Let me first say that I did read all of the reports on CR England on multiple web sites. I reported to this company with my eyes wide open. I just could not believe that a company that has been in this business for this long would treat their drivers like that. I put blame on the failures of all of these drives complaining on being lazy and not keeping that drivers door closed and just drive. Again I reported to Burns Harbor IN. with my eyes wide open on the complaints that have been posted on this company. With that said, Please read on. I have been a driver for over 20 years. I have millions of miles experience. I have driven everything from a straight truck to doubles to hazardous fuel loads. CRE told me I would have to go through a refresher course because it has been over six months since I was behind the wheel. No worries I thought. Ill just pay my dues. Whatever it takes to get in that truck. I was told by my recruiter that it would be atleast ten days before I received any money. I should bring enough cash until that happends she said. It was over a month before I got my fist penny. I went through two weeks of driving back and forth in a yard with very little supervision. My driver trainer had no idea what to show me or correct me on. In fact on my drive test he marked me down for not accelerating fast enough. When I asked him what the hell he meant by that he said that he had to mark something because he could not give me a 100 percent on my first drive test. Again, whatever it takes to get in that truck right. I finished my two weeks of pure boredom and got on a truck with my phase one trainer. He discovered quickly that I could drive and do everything it takes to do the job and very quickly fell in love with his sleeper. I drove my ten hours a day and atleast six of his. I know I am admitting I broke the law here but at this point I dont care. He would drive only two to three hours a day if he drove at all. I made all deliveries and pick ups. I was paid 60 dollars a day while he made hundreds. I understand he has expenses but he needed to do some of the work to pay for that truck. I drove for him for two weeks, twice he came to the truck drunk when he was on duty. Finally I woke up one morning in pool of sweat. I crawled out of the sleeper and the driver was gone. I had no idea where I was and there was nothing around me. I was in the middle of no where. I called the driver and he said we were near his house and he would be back in two days. I had no access to water, food, bath facilities ,, nothing. I called my trainer coordinator and told her everything, the drinking he did, the lack of driving he did, and the current situtaion. She said, we need to get you out of that truck, she made arrangements for me to get to Texas and than proceeded to tell me I would not be paid until they got me a truck with annother driver because it was my choice to leave the current truck. Unthinkable, they would rather have me sit in a truck with no water in over 100 degree temps than pay me 25 bucks a day. This company fooled me, dont let them fool you!
