This company is claiming to be "Digital Hewlett Packard Corporation" and is recruiting work from home employees through Craigslist. The email address is being sent from: [email protected] and [email protected]. The name being used is Richard Canales phone number 210-209-9172. When you call the phone number, it's dead air and the phone number reverses to a pay as you go Cricket wireless cell phone. Here is what the email looks like:
Digital Hewlett Packard Corporation is the name of our company. The company's website for the Home Business Unit is under a URL change and it involves a very high re-organizational process that involves bringing all our online staffs to log-on on the same Network Online with their staff ID. That way as soon as the website is launched within the next 10 business days then each online staffs can have a log on ID/Password to get access to their duties online while still communicating with their supervisors. That way everyone can be logged into the companies data base. You would be working under supervisors that are connected to our Regional Data Station-Centers Online. My number is 210-209-9172 When I contacted the REAL Hewlett Packard, they confirmed they have never heard of this guy or his 'services'. Any jobs through HP is done through their website and their HR department. They try to get you to send them your home address, which they'll send you a check to get your "home office" set up and you will need to cash your check at your bank. What will happen is you'll end up paying for a bad check and they keep the money. Watch out for these people, they are targeting anyone who is desperate for a job.

I got something similar. Hoping someone can help!
I received these emails and then yesterday (the 5th), I received a cashiers check for the amount of $2, 987.54 drawn up on a Englewood Bank in FL. I'm so nervous if this is a scam. I don't know what to do! I already checked on routingtool.com and it was verified that the routing number on the check is indeed from englewood bank and is active. I am planning on calling that bank monday morning as their lobby hours are only mon-friday to verify it. Please tell me what you think. Scam or No? I'm including a edited version of the check for you to see to determine if it looks real or not. Please read through everything so you know what the check is for. I havent felt right about this "job" from the beginning, and even pushed it to the side of my mind, trying to forget about it, then I got the check. Thanks everyone!

All your mentioned above emails from these scammers are exactly the same emails that I got, but of course, with a different name. After I got the 3rd email regarding the Fund Instructions, for some reason, they sent me a follow up email, they said I refused the package from Fedex, which I didn't receive any, see below:

I didn't exactly know what happened, but the first package that supposed to send me was an "Undeliverable Package" and stating that it was "Refused by Recipient" based on the Fedex website tracking number, it's active but it was held somewhere. I don't know what would happened next...some advised not to accept and don't let these checks be deposited or have it cashed because when your bank realizes the check is fake and it bounces, you get the real life job of paying back the bank for the bounced check fees and all the bank’s money you sent to these perpetrators..

That way as soon as the website is launched within the next 10 business days then each online staffs can have a log on ID/Password to get access to their duties online while still communicating with their supervisors.
