Unfortunately, I was incarcerated & gave my ex-roommate my wallet to give to my brother so I could bond out & fight the charges. Instead, she spent every dime on my card, starting the morning I got arrested. When I was finally released, I immediately called & explained what had happened & was told by the customer service representative, after filling out a report, I would recieve all the money that was stolen from my card. I gave direct express documentation to prove where I was & showed beyond a doubt, that I couldn't have possibly been the person that had made these transactions. Next, I get a letter stating, "we can not confirm an error occurred & are denying your request." What!?! I did not give out my pin number, nor did I give this person my permission to spend $534.13. I've appealed & also gave them my number where I can be reached, asking for someone to call me so we could further discuss this problem. Needless to say, I've heard nothing from direct express. Customer service won't give me a number to reach anyone with either & aren't willing to further help me with solving this matter. I want & desperately need this money back. My disability check is the only income that I have. I don't get much & it doesn't go very far. I need every penny I get a month. After everything they wanted from me to prove the money was taken from someone other than me, I got nothing in return. Something needs to be done about them being able to rip people off. I'm not fond of lining someone else's pockets with what's mine unless it's my choice.
