On October 10, 2011 a woman named Barbara called late at night from Los Angeles California. She stated the Disabled Handicapped Workers of America had turned me over to her company for collection of a past due bill for light bulbs we ordered in 2009. I did not order light bulbs and told her so. She said my husband probably did, I asked him if he had, of course he had not. She continued to state if I did not send her a check for $72.45 tomorrow and call her so she could send an electronic receipt, we would owe a total of $198.00 for late fees and collection costs. I said we did not order bulbs and if a bill was ever sent to our address we did not receive it. She continued to threaten to ruin our credit if we did not send the money and call her. I stated I would look into the matter and let her know what I would do. So I looked up ripoffs and found that DHWA had called others with the same story. Jean Centreville Alabama

I just got called with the same story, only this time they said they shipped something to my address. When I asked for proof, she said she had a delivery confirmation in front of her, I asked her to send me a copy and she said she had no way of sending it to me. I told her she can send my bill to collections because I never received their product and was not going to pay for it. She also said I would have to pay 24 months of interest at 9% on the bill of 49.95, at a coast of 250.00. She said if I paid her today it would only be 169.00. I told her no way with out proof of receiving the product.
