Distinctive Inc Deceptive Interviewing Process Timonium, Maryland
24th of Feb, 2013 by User462735
I would just like to echo what many others said about distinctive inc. Thankfully I read other people's reports before accepting this job. To start, the interviewing process matches up with what everybody else has said to a T. This company seems extremely shady and they are most likely hiring several individuals a day to accommodate the constant turnover rate. On my second interview, I was taken out and promised all sorts of things like how much money I would make how this was a great opportunity to advance on the management track etc. Immediately red flags were going up on my head like how am I being reimbursed for all the driving that I would have to do? If I'm going to all these different homes to sell Verizon products won't there be a problem with over saturating market? Despite all this, I was definitely willing to take the risk and embark on this new what appeared to be exciting adventure. Upon the final interview I had a few reservations that I wanted answered before officially starting. I wanted to know about benefits including health insurance logistically how the process would work including hours worked, reimbursement etc. The manager didn't seem too concerned with answering any of my questions and was trying to get me to come out as soon as possible even though I had requested a weeks notice as well as an offer letter before accepting the job - the hiring manager said he didn't even know if I was eligible for health insurance which raises another red flag. Overall, I got a really bad feeling about the company and it seemed that there were a lot of deceptive processes going on like aggressive sales techniques, requirements of hiring new employees similar to a pyramid scheme, the whole reimbursement of expenses or lack there of, and the general unprofessionalism of the office with a high turnover rate. I'm so glad I read about other people's experiences and decided to turn the job down. I just wanted to let everyone know that it's 2013 and this company appears to be practicing the same processes so whatever you do don't work for this company.
