| I bought a truck from Don Baskin with the promise I could bring it back if the AC stopped working or the smoke didn't clear up by the time I got home 135 miles south. I barely got it home smoking like crazy and no AC upon arrival. Called over a dozen times with no return call. Cost $22,000 to rebuild engine and AC. I buy one truck a month and every dealer and I mean every dealer tells me Don Baskin has been doing this to buyers forever. Their motto is, "There is a sucker born every minute and it's Don Baskins job is to find them." They found me but are now looking for you! When I asked how can it be that all there truck are bad? Dealers say Don Baskin has a simple operating system that gurantees problems with all their trucks. When dealers take trade in on trucks that turn out to have serious mecanical isssues they cut the price and sell to Don Baskin. Don Baskin spends alot of time detailing the truck. They look great but always have issues waiting to crush you. My shinng truck cost me $22,000 after 135 miles. If you don't believe me call any dealer within 500 miles and ask about Don Baskin. I wish I knew to do that it would have saved me $22,000. Remember, a shinny truck priced below all others is looking for that sucker born every minute. Be warned! |

| Yeah, I dealt with these clowns too, back in May 2011. Guy that showed me the truck was the salesman yet he was dressed like a lot boy. ( a grandson I think) made it to the interstate before the injector drive module went out due to low voltage from the dead batteries they refused to replace. Found a reputable man in Jackson, Tn named James Sowell who repaired it at a VERY reasonable price and turn around.Everyone I talked to in town had NEGATIVE feedback on this dealership. All in all I like the truck although I wish they would have done something to maintain it. ( a thorough PM would have been better than the armour all that was everywhere, luck I didn't wreck the first turn I made). Yeah there's definitely not a professional atmosphere there. The entire staff had this petty attitude toward everyone like they simply didn't care. Skip was very arrogant and blew me off twice despite my concerns of being pimped off on two different salesmen who were just as ignorant and arrogant. Shorts, tennies and a NASCAR shirt, dude? Really? True TV would probably get off on the place. My advice to anyone who goes up there is to be prepared to play the game and see if you can't beat em at it. Otherwise look for some reputable folks that enjoy what they do. These guys get off on sticking it to everyone they can while saying "GOD BLESS" on there correspondence... Pretty sick, Skip. And offensive. |
