eBizNex - Mike
eBizNex - Mike Cox ruined my laptop rather than repaired it. Hemet, California
26th of Aug, 2011 by User722331
On July 25, I purchased laptop repair service via eBay from a company calling itself eBizNext. I shipped my HP Pavilion laptop via UPS using UPS's recommended packing method for laptops, to ensure it wasn't damaged en route. The laptop was functioning, but it had a known defect I wanted fixed. Their offer looked pretty good. "We specialize in Motherboard repair for ALL HP Pavilion DV Series Laptops.... The process takes about one week... We give you a 90 day repair warranty on this problem. If we cannot fix it No Charge! Money Immediately Refunded! We back our work!... We know good customer service is GOLD! So we give you our repair shop direct number." On July 27, I made a payment of $79.95 to someone named Mike Cox, at eBixNex. On August 10, after waiting two weeks for return of the laptop, I tried to contact their "golden" customer service to get a repair status. I got an answering machine; never a reply to my message. Never a reply to an email inquiry, either. I finally received the laptop on August 17 (a three-week wait). It failed to boot up. It kept shutting off. I had seen this behavior before on a PC when the motherboard went bad. Further, by looking at the BIOS, the IT guy at my work informed me that the laptop was now carrying a non-Intel chip. Very odd, since Intel had been the factory-installed chip. Not surprisingly, I received no response to a call and an email that I sent to eBizNex about my broken laptop. When I called again on August 23, their telephone was disconnected. As I write this, the telephone number and email address are now gone from their WebSite. So, obviously, a big, fly-by night scam. Apparently, they swapped my working motherboard for a bad one. I have to hope they didn't also take my hard drive. Don't do business with any entity calling itself eBizNex or any person named Mike Cox (unless you know for sure the person isn't this shyster).

Wow, almost the exact same thing happened to me. Below are the details, but I actually called eBay, since it was out of the 45 day time frame. In addition, I recommend filing a complaint with the CA Attorney General and the Los Angles Office of the BBB. Here is what happened to me: On 6/16/11 I originally purchased a laptop repair from eBizNex on eBay. My laptop was randomly shutting down, but I used it and it ran enough for me to know that it had all of its original components. I shipped it out and eBizNex e-mailed me on 6/30 saying that in addition to the original repair, my motherboard needed to be replaced for an additional $49.95. I agreed.I received my laptop back on 7/21. The first time I turned it on, it booted up and I was able to get into Windows. After about 10 minutes, the system shutdown and it kept shutting down. I e-mailed stating that it still wasn't working and they had me send it back for a warranty repair.I never received any communication from the seller after my warranty repair was completed. On 8/9 my laptop just showed up via UPS. There was also no information sent back with my laptop. I started my laptop, it wouldn't open Windows and was only showing 1GB of RAM instead of 4GB. (4GB is the standard for my laptop) I e-mailed the seller about this. The response I received back told me that the non-boot was a common problem they saw with these laptops and that they had received my laptop with only 1GB. They also claim to conduct testing, if that was true, I wouldn't have received my laptop back broken, twice.I have since had the laptop examined by a local company. My laptop is a HP Pavilion dv2854se. The local company told me the motherboard and CPU are now that of a HP dv2413. The dv2413 only comes with 1GB of RAM and can only support 2GB. Also, the dv2845se has a AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core 2.10 GHz, now my laptop has a slower 1.8 GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core. Before I sent this computer in, it did start up and ran enough for me to know that it had all the original parts.I have e-mailed twice asking for a refund and have received no response.
