Eldorado Resorts Corporation
Eldorado Resorts Corporation Grandview Las Vegas Trapped, Manipulated and Mislead in a high pressure Sales environment that used profiling to sell us
2nd of May, 2011 by User415865
I have read many of the other reports and I have also talked to a lawyer about breaking my contract with the Grandview. It does not look good unless we file a class action suit against them. Their unethical sales techniques are going to be hard to prove unless we have a large number of victims come forward with similar stories to ours. After trying to deal with RCI and the Grandview I basically got what I paid for a very expensive fixed week at the Grandview each year. My Story I tried to avoid them all week while I was in Vegas, October of 2008, but they finally got us and reeled us in using profiling. We received $200 of casino play and a couple of buffets for 8 hours of our time. My wife is Filipino and convientely all of our Sales staff, except for the closer, were Filipino and they spoke the same dialect. Most of the conversation outside of the sales pitch was all foreign to me but this made my wife comfortable with them so she convinced me. We refused several offers and discounts until we finally agreed to give it a try. After 8 hours it felt like we were never going to get out of there unless we agreed to something. What finally sold me was the idea of trading my week through RCI to go to other places. They promissed us two free extra vacations a year and a cruise to the Bahamas with our new RCI Membership. We agreed to a trianual fixed week ownership in the early spring. Therefore trading my week sounded great until you try to go somewhere else or redeem the extra vacations. Nothing is ever available when you want to go somewhere and the hidden costs / black out dates on the cruise were ridicules. Therefore the perks were not worth the paper they were printed on. I can't even give the timeshare away so I never felt more ripped off. We basically got nothing for our time and money.

My husband and I also purchased a time share through Grand View and feel we were mislead...hugely!!! We have actually stopped paying on it and now they're threatening to foreclose...please email me at [email protected] with any updated info you may have about this, I really do believe that there should be a class action lawsuit filed against these out right crooks...

same story with me and my wife. we were trapped into their financing. we should not have listened to their advice. that we can re-finance to lower interest thru our bank or credit union. all banks and all credit unions refused because a timeshare is not a very viable investment for them.i am now trying to get out of their i8%.
i discontinued my payment but they kept harrassing us by mail, phone. i even told them to foreclose my timeshare and i will suck up my losses just pretending i lost it at the poker table.they have reported me to credit bureaus and has severely damaged my credit. they even have the audacity telling me to re-sell my time share. how ridiculous.

My husband and I who went to Las Vegas and got married the DAY BEFORE this mess started, are also trapped by this big mess of lies. I WILL get involved with this lawsuit and it NEEDS to happen. I am willing to do whatever if takes to get as many people that are victims of this lie.

I am currently going into default and my file was transferred to corporate. They are trying to offer me a downgrade (in his mind) or a membership costing "only" 11, 800.00! The funny thing is, when he told me what I purchased, his information is incorrect. At this point I am not sure what to do. I have several e-mails from communication with this guy that state incorrect information about my purchase which I see as proof of fraud. My question is, to those who stopped paying, did it hit your credit? And if so, what did it show up as on your credit (foreclosure)?

If you go to ripoffreport.com and look up this company, there are pages of complaints that are all pretty much the same. There are a few "employees" and ex-employees that have responded with bull, but I think if it wasn't bull then there wouldn't be so many complaints that are all THE SAME! After researching this company A LOT, I can't say that I have found anything positive about them, just pure negative.

We MUST take action againt this company. I don't know about you, but I am personally tired of so many companies lying to us and manipulating us with their deceptive tactics into contracts that have nothing to do with their presentations or sales schemes.

Please let me know of any info on what happens when you stop paying them and if/how it hits your credit, and also how we can start a class action law suit against them. I am definitely in!

Wow all the blogs sound just like our experience. My husband and I went to LV for a quick vacation. They stopped us on our way into the hotel. Basically convinced us to give them some of our time and they would give us tickets to shows. To reserve the tickets they requested a 50.00 deposit. We showed up at the meeting spot and were taking by bus to a part of LV That we were not familiar with. We sat through the presentation waiting for it to be over. Then we were put Into a room full of people. The lady assigned to us tried running her pitch to us. I kept telling her we weren't interested then she brought in another sales manager. I'm assuming was her boss. He tried for hours to convince us. He talked fast used everything he could think of.
1. He showed us an add on Craigslist where someone had a time share for rent and said it could be an investment but that he wasn't supposed to tell us.
2. Lowered the price said he would give us a lower interest rate.
3. Said a couple returned there time share so he'd would be able to give us a lower price.
4. Told us the property was very valuable, the best week and the investment was going to improve.
5. Said the money we made on renting it would pay it off in no time.
6. Once they knew we had a family they said there was a huge water park going in and a monorail to Anaheim.
We said several times we could not afford the timeshare, did not want the timeshare. Finally after hours of not knowing how to leave and get back to our hotel was we finally gave in. Then when we were signing all of the paperwork they made us initial a paper basically saying we weren't bullied into buying. Which we were because we were exhausted, frustrated and confused. We have been scrounging to continue paying for this timeshare that we don't know how to use for three years. Im so angry that we are stuck with this. We didnt know about the opportunity to rescind within do many days. I wish we did. Everyday is discouraging when I try to find some hope of getting help. However everytime you think you have hope in getting rid of it you have to be concerned it is a scam. I notice the posts are old but I would be interested in participating in a class action lawsuit if there was still an opportunity. We are Canadians so I don't know if that makes it more difficult.

I'm from Canada and my wife and I purchased a couple of years ago. At a high interest rate of 17.99 we are still paying off the term of the contract. Recently I made an extra payment of just $100 and I see today that only 85.44 of it went on to the principle. As we are thinking of paying off the balance of $9600, I'm glad I just put down $100 to see the scam of how they do not accept/understand what it's like to make sole Principle Payments (extra payments). Further looking at the history of regular monthly payments "they" cannot explain properly how the "interest to principle" payments are determined each month. Like a regular mortgage your interest will gradually come down...not we "these" folks. Amounts of interest flactuate on a monthly basis. The worse mistake of my life!

WOW! These all sound like our experience! We had another couple with us, at the original sales pitch, they wouldn't even let them leave to go out for a smoke. I felt as though I'd been kidnapped. This sales pitch went on all day until we finally agreed to purchase. There is much more to the story but a lot of it has been said by other victims. I've tried to contact headquarters in Florida but no one ever returns a call. The Nevada BBB and the office of the Attorney general in Nevada say they can't do anything. I've spent thousands of dollars trying to get out of this to no avail. RCI has a class action law suit against them, can't one be started by those of us trying to get out of this against the Grandview?

Anyone successful in getting out?

My husband and I too fell for the incredible sales pitch these people dished out. It soon became clear that their wonderful promises were not so wonderful! It's been a while since we purchased and have not used it once! Can't even seem to use the extra weeks due to restrictions they have. Talks about being able to travel anywhere around the world for less than $200 (but fail to mention the ADDITIONAL yearly RCI fee to do this) In addition, our sales rep told us if at anytime we couldn't afford it they would just take it back. Lie after lie! If there is a class action law suit, I would like to be informed.

After being pressured into purchasing the timeshare and researching some details I feel that my husband and I were misinformend as well. They told us:
1) It was a Financial Investment
2) Rental and Resale - they never informed us of the costs involved in doing this
3) Manintenance Fees - they said we would have yearly maintenance fees, but never said they would increase
4) False Sense Of Urgency - we wanted to go and think about this but they said the price was only good for today. If we came back tomorrow it wouldn't be the same.
5) Tour Length - We were there for half the day. What a way to spend your vacation...being pressured into something you cannot afford.
6) After I told them I didn't bring any money with me for their downpayment they used my credit card and also put the monthly payments on that as well.
7) They told us we could just go home and get a mortgage for the timeshare...tried and were told no. We are paying 17.99 in interest plus 19.99 interest on my CC that they are using for the payments
8) Cancellation - never even mentioned this
9) Exchanges - oh yeah, you can go anywhere, but they didn't tell us of the exchange costs. And you can sell you weeks with no problems to cover your costs for the year. NOT!!!

I would be interested, email me at [email protected]

Us too... please email me at [email protected] and let me know if we filed that class action suit - how I can join or what your experiences have been? Has anyone gone through with a foreclosure? What was the experience? I am so done with this... already paid $6, 000 and have another $6, 000 to go for nothing!

Also, why does Grandview have an A+ rating on BBB? I think we all need to hit the BBB with complaints!
