Farmers Insurance Marketing or Legal departments RUNNING CREDIT REPORT 4 TIMES WITHOUT PERMISSION VIOLATED FAIR CREDIT ACT REPORTED TO FEDERAL TRADE C

I was notified by my bank that my S.S. # had been flagged. Someone tried to use my SS# but failed and my bank was notified to notify me. I was told I should check my credit report for any fraudulent activity. When I checked my report from Trans Union I discovered that Farmers Insurance ran my credit report 4 times. Nov. & Dec. of 2010 and April & May of 2011. I tried desperately to reach someone in either the Marketing or Legal departments. Left messages. No one ever called back. I contacted the Federal Trade Commission and they are filing a report. I was told to send a certified letter with return receipt to Farmers to dispute the checking of my credit report. I do not use Farmers Insurance, I have Allstate and have had for 6 years. I want to know why and how they got a hold of my SS # and for what purpose? They do not call back. They need to stop what they are doing. I have had to put alerts on all 3 agencies in the event someone tries to take a loan or credit with my SS#, but for now it is just nerve racking that anyone that big (corporations) can just do what they want without having to suffer the reprocussions or answer for their actions. I don't know if this is true but I did read that violation of the Fair Credit Act can cost $2,700 per occurance. If true would also like to know who gets the money???
