This company Foley Marine EnginesInc. uses very deceptive business practices to lure you in. Then after relying on the So called"Broad knowledge base" and over 100 years in Business! You recieve the wrong part, No big deal, eveyone makes a mistakei'm thinking I'm sure they will make it right. "Wrong" I Call them up andtell them the starterI recieved is not the one I asked for it has 9 teeth not 13 like I had asked for. After allI didprovide the engine make, seriel number and description in an e-mail. I think the Parts Manager likes to hide behind the facade of "Dr. Diesel" Its no wonder you can not get any names of people in charge down there. Anyway giving them the benifit of the doubt I try to get them to send me the right one. I am told they will have to do some more research and get back to me. Well this is where my luck turns bad. A couple of weeks go buy and nothing. Then I get a call from a women down there that asks why we sent a starter back and what is it for I tell her that the parts manager had instructed me to do so and write I'mnot happy on the side of the box and he would take care of it. She tells me to hang on. Then Iget transfered back to this so calledDr Diesel. He proceeded to tell me that they have had to to a lot of research on the starter and have found the right one this time and it is about three times the price. I tell him thatIwill have to check with my customer and get his authorization firstI will get back to him. I call my customer and tell him the bad news and the price he tells me that he does not have that much to spend rightnow and he will have to wait. I call Foley Marineback andtell them my customer does not have that much to spend rightnow andcould you please just issue a credit. I'm told"No Problem" Aweek or so goes by andI get the credit less a restocking fee andfrieght, on a part they had on there shelf.I call back and ask whyI am being penalizedwith a restocking fee on a part that was sent that was wrong? I am then again transfered to the Parts manager. He proccedes to tell me thatI was charged the restocking fee because i did notcomplete the transaction. I tell him that ifI had been quoted the correct part and price originally thatI would not have proceded with it then. As it was out of my customers budget right now. He tells me that he's got to much time into the research. I respond that they sent the wrong part even thoughI provided the correct info in an emailto begin with. He says send me a copy and we'll see but if i dispute the charge withmy credit card company thatI will recieve nothing. I fwd the email and await a response, well guess what? Not a Peep out him. I call back and ask to speek to somone in acounting.they ask what it is in reguards to andI tell them. The next thingI get is i am turned over to the Parts manager and told the best he could do is put a credit on ther books and thatI am lucky for that. "Lucky"I think to myself this has been going on for 8 weeks andnowI am "Lucky" I sure feel this way. Hmm there origonal mistake on the part and nowI am being penilized for it. I askfor his supervisors contact info, he tells me he will not provide that and I am lucky again for the credit on the books. Well, i'm thinking what kind of business is this company running? SoI figure I will do a litttle more research on line and look for any other complaints about the way thay do bussiness. Guess whatI found? That's right no shortage of isues and disputes absolutly outragous what is being said about them and they just do not seem to give a dam. NowI will now go the route of disputing the charge. I turn it over to mybusiness manager and she fills outthe paper work for the dispute. She calls to get a name of the parts manager and he askes what it is in reguards to she tells him she would like the nake of a suporvisor and is quickly told no and that he is hanging upnow "QLICK" she can not believe the guy just hung up on her. Well On with the dispute the way this company does business is outragous. At least they chose an appropriate place like Worcester Mass, to be conducting there business. "So For anyone thinking about doing Business with Foley Marine EnginesInc. THINK TWICE and Don't do it, you will likely get screwed like Me" I think there profit margins must be wrapped up in ther restocking fees and other erronious charges. Jim Foley you should be ashamed of the business practices that are being conducted under your tenure.
