Freedom Life Insurance Company of America Medical Insurance Company That Takes Your Money And Denies All Of Your Medical Claims in Fort Worth, Texas
23rd of Nov, 2011 by User370562
My new medical insurance started on September 1st, 2011. I went to see a doctor on September 2nd, 2011 because I felt a pain on my side, which I thought was a pulled muscle. After seeing the doctor, he sent me for tests, which was all negative. He said I needed to go to the hospital, because he couldnt figure out what was wrong with me. I did go to the hospital a couple days later. they figured out that I had chromes dieses and operated on me, took a piece of bow out. Was in hospital for a week. Now this company is denying all my claims because I told the doctor on September 2nd, that I had this pain for a couple of days, and they are saying it was a pre existing condition becuase it happened in late, late August. This company is a total scam. If I had a heart attack on September 5th, they ould probably say the same thing, my heart was bad before the September 1st date, what a scam.

Sounds like the only scammer here is the complainer. His pain mysteriously showed up the day after his policy went into effect? Oh right!! I've sold health insurance for many years and people lie all the time on applications and assume the insurers are stupid.

My complaint begins with a poor pitiful divorced mother and former CNA. Said she'd seen how devistating it can be when you can't afford insurance, that's why she loves her job. I explained that I recently lost my husband and was no longer working and had, within the last month been scammed by another so called healthcare plan. Luckily I intevened before any monies were charged to my credit card by the fraudulant company. She assured me that this PPO Plan is REAL INSURANCE, not a discount or indemnity plan. (Lies Lies Lies) She went over every UNTRUTHFUL detail and I wrote down word for word the benefits she described. $30.00 copay UNLIMITED doctor visits, PCP or Specialist - 75% coverage on all UNLIMITED hospital stays including ICU and surgeries - $100.00 copay on ER visits and plan pays 75% of balance - I could go on and on. I was told that she was with Freedom Ins. Co. and this multi healthcare plan was put together by healthcare insurance co. working together to provide insurance at reasonable cost. I was told there would be 3 health ins. co. Cigna - Mutual of Omaha - USHealth Grp. in my plan. Being leary since I wasn't familair with USHealth Grp. I googled it. I didn't see any complaints and it seemed legit ( didn't dig deep enough). I was told the $99.00 enrollment fee was non refundable, but I had 30 days to review the plan and if I decided it's not for me nothing else would be charged to my credit card. I received the plan package about a week later (yesterday) from a company, Affiliated Workers Association. Never heard of and never mentioned by consultant or the supposedly licensed insurance agent. Googled them and D+ rating, not member of BBB. Checked with my credit card co. The enrollment fee plus 1st mo. premium had already been charged and I just received my plan package. To my dismay (should have known better) another SCAM! I don't have money to throw away. That's why I've been looking for affordable healthcare. Also, the company that made the charge to my credit card is Homeland. Who are they? Never heard of and never mentioned. There was more paperwork on discounts on magazine subscriptions - roadside assistance - carperks -Office Depot and many more. I applied for HEALTH INSURANCE. I don't need a folder full of discount benefits and the healthcare benefits are nothing like The benefits that were explained to me. When I tried to call my consultant that was to be there for me, anytime as well as the licensed agent, I was told they weren't in and would have to call me back. The person that answered the phone asked me why I was calling. I told her I just needed to ask a few questions about my benefit package that I'd just received. She immediately raised her voice and started getting defensive, saying a licensed agent recorded our conversation and I had to agree to the benefits, etc. In a calm voice I asked why she was so defensive and she wouldn't let me get a word in at all. She was so rude and I finally raised my voice somewhat, just trying to get her to let me say something and she hung up in my face. What is this world coming to, when you have to scam people. Shame on you and these cons. Very sad! I did cancel my credit card and will keep a copy of this complaint as well as let whoever I can know about this. I will be faxing a cancellation notice as soon a my monthly premium starting Oct. 1st thru Nov. ends. All this has done is run my blood pressure up, so hope I don't have to go to doctor or hospital with this poor excuse for healthcare.
