geico didnt cover the only situation that insurance was bought for, Internet

I had motorcycle insurance through geico which did not cover me on car rentals or when using friends cars. I purchased personal auto insurance for $100/month, the only purpose of which was to cover me when using other peoples cars. I was in an accident with a friends car that wasn't insured. a the damage was $1000. I thought, I'm sure glad I have this insurance. however, geico denied my claim, stating that the jeep I was driving was classified as an off road vehicle and didn't qualify as a covered vehicle even though the contract clearly stated that 4x4 vehicles were covered as long as their primary use was not off road. This jeep was a registered vehicle with license plates and safety check. It was totally street legal and used primarily for in town driving. I spoke with an attorney who said I was in a difficult position. Even though I would certainly win in court, it would cost me $1000 to take geico to court.he also said that it was bad luck the damages were only $1000 because geico is known for denying claims it knows will not be fought due to court costs being in the vicinity of the claim amount. it would have been better if I'd totalled the car instead because this was clearly an open and shut case. So shame on geico for finding any way they could to not cover my claim. It worked! A$$ holes
