I needed a pain management doctor and was told by Get Med 360 to check their directory on line. At first I was pleased to find the names of 18 pain management doctors in my area. But then I started calling each doctor and here are the results.
5 doctors on the list were not at the numbers I called. 3 of those numbers were different people and the 2 others there was no answer, no answering machine and no answering service
2 doctors specialized in a field other than pain management
2 doctors were no longer seeing new patients, and that was told to me after they asked the type of insurance I have
And the remaining 9 doctors offices told me they do not accept Get Med 360, and haven't for periods ranging from 1-4 years. And 3 of those 9 offices told me the reason they stopped carrying this insurance was due to them not getting paid, ever. In other words the doctor submits the claim after seeing you, and 3 of these doctors offices told me they never once got paid for claims they submitted.
When I called back to complain to a Get Med 360 representative, I was told that what these doctors told me was untrue or they knew nothing about such complaints. When I asked why names are on their list who no longer exist they told me it's up to the doctors to remove their names themselves. Now I'm asking myself "why wouldn't a doctor remove his name when he doesn't accept their insurance anymore" The only answer I could conjure up is they don't have the control to remove their names themselves. And if by some miracle you do find a doctor who takes the insurance you will find he's most likely a witch doctor or someone you don't have any faith in.
I've paid $2390 these past 10 months to this company without the need to go to a doctor. I had a check-up with my regular physician who I paid cash to and doesn't accept this insurance. I take blood pressure medicine and Lipitor, which I pay a combined $187 per month for, because the $10 back prescription plan they give you is pathetic, so much that the drug manufacturer gives you more back themselves than the $10 and you can't combine their discount and the $10 per prescription, you have to take the better plan of the two.
Having Get Med 360 is the same has having no insurance at all except for one thing, it cost you a couple of hundred dollars each month plus a one time processing fee. You're better off taking the money and placing it on a 100-1 shot at the track, the results will be the same. |
