I'm absolutely flabbergasted to find out that Giltcity is taking advantage
of small business owners by including a clause in the fine print of the
contract which allows them to keep all the revenue for the clients who
decide to purchase the offer given by the business but who don't show up to
redeem it. Giltcity is the only major daily deal company
that uses this unfair practice. It's a sad realization since as a Gilt
client, I was under the impression that the deals given are fair and the
businesses featured impressive, but never thought that that same company
would use small businesses like my own to feature and sell a service and
then keep the portion of the sales that were not redeemed. I'm sure anyone
would see how unfair that is, exploiting business owners, who are barely
keeping themselves open these days. Especially considering our current
economic situation. Giltcity speaks of assisting us and helping us grow, but they
turn around and rob us in such a conniving way.

Thank you OliveOwner for pointing out the nasty fine print. We are having our own difficulties getting the first payment from GiltCity, which was weeks past due, and basically threatened to run our Salon business into the red due to lack of promised payment. Now I am concerned we won't get redeemed vouchers for no-shows.
And I can only hope they will submit final payment at the end of the deal.
There are other deal sites that allow you to post your deal for much less : try laloca.com
