I recently used Prestige Relocations for a move from Texas to Ohio; they ripped me off by giving a low quote and then charging me more than three times the quote; no money-I don't receive my belongings on their truck. I reported the company to U.S. Dept of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. I received information from this dept. that Prestige Relocations is an agent of Greenpoint Van Lines; the USDOT # on my quote from Prestige is the same as Greenpoint's. After receiving this information I decided to call Greenpoint Van Lines to verify that Prestige Relocations is an agent of theirs. When I called this company I was treated very rudely; I was threatened. The man would not identify himself when asked; when he asked my name I gave it to him and he said he knew about me. He said I was causing trouble by contacting agencies about Prestige Relocations; I didn't know what I was talking about. When I asked again who I was speaking with he hung up on me. I have discovered that Greenpoint VanLines and one of Prestige Relocations locations share the same address. I wonder if they are "sharing the money they steal from customers"! According to a website, Greenpoint VanLines, has been in transport business since 2/17/10. If their customer service does not improve and if they are not more careful with their agents, they might soon be out of business! Please do not do business with Greenpoint VanLines and Prestige Relocations!!!!
