Woodlands Consignment Gallery illegally sold my 10 piece dining room group for $400 and tired to pay me $160. They also "lost" my kitchen set during the transition to new ownership. In a verbal agreement agreed upon April of 2010 with owner Helena Jaramillo, the minimum payment I would accept for the dining room group from WCG was $500. At her reccommendation, a separate contract was never signed and I was told to wait 30 days to see if she could sell it. At some unknown point during the year, well after the 30 day waiting period, the dining room group sold and I was never notified. I only found out about it by stopping by the store in November of 2010 as I thought it strange that I had not heard from them.
I believe it was Helena's intent to keep this hidden and reap 100% of the benefit from this sale. She can not produce a sales receipt confirming date, recipient, or amount the dining room was sold. This dining room was solid wood, consisted of a 8 foot table, 8 chairs, curio cabinet and matching hutch.
Helena has offered solutions including paying me $160, paying me $300, offered a store credit of $500, and finally offered to say that she sold the items for $500 (not the $400 she claims) and will give me 40% of that resulting in $200. This is the result of several phone calls and meetings. She knows she is in the wrong and is trying to "steal" the money that is rightfully due to me.
