Home Credit Law Center Brian Linnekens Contract canceled 10 days after signing, but firm refuses to refund money Santa Monica, California

I contacted home credit to assist me with renegotiation of my home loan due to a decrease in income.
They indicated that they were an A+ rated company and without any negative reports. However, after I sent the contract, I did more research and found out that there were several negative reports on this company and they have refused to refund money to other clients.
I immediately contacted my counselor, Kelly. She indicated she would make note of the cancellation, but I should also send a fax confirmation to the firm.
They continue to keep my deposit of $1500, indicating they used $2500 of attorney time.
I have told a minimum of 5 staff members, a fax confirming the cancellation, two certified letters to Brian Linnekens - one of the attorneys at this firm, and they still refuse to refund my deposit.
