HRP staffing HRP hospital recruiting partners Scam, waste of time, asking for money, not a real address Plaistow, New Hampshire
13th of Jul, 2011 by User345277
I was contacted by this company to help them with their "outreach, marketing, and business development" efforts. HRP staffing is supposedly a recruitment agency that finds medical personal to fill in positions at hospitals, nursing homes, and other medical facilities. I was given the address to a "webinar interview." Once I logged in, I noticed that there were 130 other "interviewees" in the "audience" with me. This was the first suspicious part of this whole situation. What kind of "interview" includes 130 people at a time? After the presenter went through 40 minutes of presenting about the work the company does, the catch came at the end. So, in addition to ONLY getting paid when you actually fill a position at a hospital, you have to PAY HRP staffing to even start working. They ask for an initial payment of $350 because they need to cover the costs of their IT department and database entry software. I've never had a job where I had to PAY the company to actually start working FOR them. So I am pretty sure these guys are scammers and they get desperately unemployed individuals to pay them. Since they are in a different state, it will most likely will be hard to pursue them and see what's going on. In fact, their address is a P.O. Box 972 Plaistow, NH 03865. Once you google map it and take a look, there is nothing actually there... AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS

I also received an email from HRP services . I actually went on the webinar today...I thought it sounded good up untill they mentioned the cost of $199 to start up. I know I am alot like many others and do not just have $199 to throw out the window. Glad that I saw this blog and I am extremely glad that I did not waste $199 only 1 hour.

I have noticed that shortly after posting my resume on Monster.com I started receiving ALL these "scam like" offers. The HRP Staffing is just one of several scam e-mails I received so I plan to close my account with Monster.com. Basically, if you receive an e-mail from Devon Barret @ HRP staffing extending you an offer to interview with them...DELETE it.

They are actually getting better at this. They now contact you through Devon Barrett and the Webinar is serviced through GO To Meeting's web conference. The cost is now 199.00 for training and a certificate that you can take with you in the future. The conference now takes about an hour before they come down to the cost and you are a contractor to explain the need for you to pay, which is supposed to be reimbursed on your first check. With Go To Meeting the number of people is not available on the webinar site and the messaging board is disabled except for a couple of questions that you are supposed to respond to. I do not believe this is legitimate at all. I am reporting the e-mails to my scam service. Hope no one shells out any money for this!

I fell asleep during the webinar... lol, but in the end once they ask for money I get the feeling its scam. The only money you should invest in getting a job is for your degree.

Yet another victim of wasting an hour of my life! I thought it was sketchy as well, but I thought...why not just listen...what could it hurt? First of all, everyone is correct...having almost 200 people on a group webinar for a "company overview" is unheard of... 2nd the guy that was actually leading the webinar looked like a greasy, slick old car salesman. Others were right when they said that they were trying to pressure people to call in...the number of positions available went from 34 to 18 in moments. I was a bit curious, so I gave my number for them to call me. Within a minute, a lady called and tried to push me into paying her right then..it was $199 for "adminstrative costs." When i told her I was at work and can talk after 4pm, that I had more questions...she just said..call back and hung up. So, five minutes later I received yet another call from a representative that tried to do the same thing...then, I have received 2 emails as well...ALL this from 2pm-4pm (before I could even get off work).

So, the moral to the story is...if it doesnt feel right..dont do it! I checked out the company as well with the BBB...and found nothing.

I truly feel sorry for the people that rushed in and paid in hopes of finally getting a job.

I also received an email from HRP and ironically, it sounds just like AIL. I signed up for the webinar and now that I found this site, I'm not going to attend since both days they have for me are days that I have important business that I must attend to and sorry, this webinar just isn't that important to me now since it is now knocked down a few rungs on the latter of priorities.

Also, I noticed a lot of typos on the HRP website which has red flags going off in my head. (Thanks to English classes, I can spot errors quickly.) It's time to put my foot down on this bad grammar laden website and say "No" to scams. Sadly, there are only a few savvy internet users that will do the research and it looks like I'm in good company here.

Here it is August 14th and I just received an email from HRP Staffing (on a Sunday - which was my 1st clue they aren't legit).

Seems like all of you have posted a couple weeks ago and I thank you for alerting me that this is just what I thought it was - a SCAM.

I'm so sick and tired of all the garbage on the internet of people trying to take advantage of the unemployed, many of whom I'm sure are desperately seeking work to put food on the table for their families.

What a shame you can't trust a soul anymore...

Has anyone paid and continued with HRP? I would be interested to see if anyone has gone to the next step after the initial Webinar "interview" and if so what was your experience with HRP? Did anything they said on the webinar interview ring true?
I got suckered into paying the $199.00 and was quite excited about the opportunity and then came across this site and stoped payment. Just curiouse if there are any success stories.

Thanks to all who posted! I thought this might be too good to be true, so I will not respond to their interview request!

My son, out of work for a year, just received the same e-mail. He was so excited that he finally had an interview. What a scam, a bunch of bottom feeders. Glad I looked this up before he called.

Thanks everyone for the heads-up. They are still at it -I just got an "interview request" for a time that had already passed!!! did some research...found this site. It is a HUGE help - shame on these people preying on those who are already "down" due to the economic situation and being out of work.

WOW, I'm glad I listen to that little voice in my head. I went through the whole schlemiel and decided to think about it and check it out more before I committed myself. I thought that they have interviews again tomorrow that I could get into their "30" positions, paying "$199.00" then. So glad I looked them up and saw this about them. Thanks everyone for taking the time out to write about this scam and looking out for the rest of us!

i'm watching their "webinar" right now and this guy looks like a total sleaze ball! i wouldn't ever pay anyone to let me work for them, but thanks for confirming my suspicions. total scam.
4635 days ago by Shellbelle228
i just sat thru their "webinar", and omg. the guy talking is only barely literate. it's like like a train wreck, you just can't take your eyes off it. he waited til the last minute to set up the "$199.00 "processing fee", and then opened up questions.

do any real jobs ever come off the internet?

Same situation for me. Thank you so much for posting that this is a scam! You can't trust anybody anymore. How disgusting.

I just got off a webinar with HRPand had a sickening feeling. It's the second scam offer in 2 days! I have been out of work since January 27, 2009 as a W-2 employee. It is a shame but as we got further into the webinar I (being a salesperson) could feel the pitch coming to a close and started wondering how much he was building the sale up to be. Several people on here have given different amounts. Today it cost $199 while others have paid from $360+ to $179 from what I can read. I'm an entreprenuer so I know nothing is free but if they are in such dire need for Account Executives then they should be willing to eat the initial cost or deduct it from the first commission/bonus (whatever!). I am a 1099 contractor and understand all that that entails but even so, legit companies are keenly aware of how difficult it is to retain 1099's so they often give more than they take to make acceptance attractive.

@fkromo, I'd like to clarify something for you in regards to AFLAC and some other insurance companies. They do not charge you a fee to hire you and will work with you to help you get your license to sell insurance. The fee for the training and licensing does not go into their pockets. It is mandated by each state's Insurance Commissioner who monitors the activities of all insurance producers, who by the way suffer harsh legal penaties if they fail their due process. You can not legally sell insurance without being licensed by the state. I didn't have the greatest experience with AFLAC in regards to sales and the economy but they are a legit and good company. I had policies from them long before I worked with them as an independent contractor. What they offer is not for everyone because not everyone is cut out to work on a commission only basis, but they do help people get up and running very quickly,
These guys here, HRP should be ashamed of themselves. When times are difficult the predators certainly come out!
