Got a mail fraud letter today. It stated that I won a second prize of $125,000 and it included a check in the amount of $3,980. I was to cash that check and use the money to pay the taxes due. I was to call 905-598-6612 for instructions on how to wire transfer the $2,980 tax to a tax agent in the UK. The check looked so real and the bank it was drawn on was a real bank (Huntington National; Bank).
I didn't fall for it but wondewr how many others do.

Got a similar letter with check for $2990 drqwn on PNC Bank (a legitimate branch) adn the Progressive Direct Insurance Co. I called the insurance company who assured me that it is a scam. My understanding is that they want your bank routing and account #.
