Anyone who has the misfortune to come across gto joe and anything he's selling, that you may be looking for, should stay away. I made the expensive mistake of buying a fender from him for my 66 gto after coming across an ad he had on craigslist. He had it listed as an absolutely solid, rust free, rare find for $280. I specifically asked him if he was sure it was a 66 fender and not 67, describing the difference between the two where the header panel meet, and he almost offensively assured me that it was, and he was well aware of the difference. More importantly, I needed to know that it was as rust free as he said it was. He informed me that he was an experienced body man and would be able to tell if there had been any repairs made ,and that there hadn't been. I sent the 280 and paid 120 for fed ex to ship it which was money I couldn't afford to throw away since I was unemployed at the time. The fender showed up about a week later and before I even got the box opened all the way I knew I'd been had. Not only was it a 67 fender, but it was clearly obvious by the pinholes and rough sanding scratches, there was an extensive amount of body filler in the bottom of the fender underneath the spray can primer, right next to a rot hole the size of a quarter on the inside of the jamb. There is no way anyone with or without body work experience could miss this! After contacting gto joe I took the body filler off to expose the rot and sent him pictures of the damage,which was far worse than I first thought. The patch panels aren't tall enough to replace the damaged area! After numerous attempts to get this guy to make good on this deal I'm still out $400 and still don't have a fender for my car. No return phone calls, no returned money. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!
