Unfortunately I went to see John Cerruti a local chiropractor for back discomfort I had that was sustained from injuries yrs ago... I had already had my son seeing him and thought he was very confident in his profession...I now see it as pure arrogance...
He knew I was self pay and had no insurance so offered me discounts if I reffered business or brought other family members including myself to see him... He understood I could not afford the full price for ppl to be seen so explained how he would adjust the cost... So he offered free consults to my family... After evaluating myself...my boyfriend...and 3 other children he urged everyone needed to be adjusted...Even my 6 yr old... He then said he would give me a family plan of course the more I paid down the more he would bring the price down...
The entire family started treatment... I was paying him hundreds of dollars monthly for all the services... I had referred others and believe the extra business was credited to me...
A few weeks into my adjustments I started having pain in areas I had never had problems with... I told him of the discomfort I was having and his response was "It gets worse before it gets better" He also made sure to tell me scary stories of ppl who stopped seeing their chiropractors ei; A woman who use to crack her own neck in between seeing her chiropractor died suddenly in her sleep after having one of her irregular adjustments and the chiropractor couldnt be held responsible because she adjusted herself also and wasnt consistant with treatment... stories like these were often told when I had missed an appt or made a complaint of discomfort... I think it was a scardy cat tactic...
My discomfort became full blown pain and I could not put any pressure on my tailbone... I could not even sit without intense pain... I could not drive in car for more then a few minutes and upon getting out of car my eyes would water and pain would have me doubled in pain... I decided to stop going... The day I left the office for the last time I asked what my blance due was... Tia his wife/secratary told me I was all paid to date... I never had any family continue treatment...
I figured whatever he had done to me would heal and get better... Weeks went by and I suffered greatly...My whole life had been altered as I was not able to sit for any duration or drive..
After a few weeks I recieved a bill from his office.... He wanted $540.00 ... He went thru and recalculated every visit My children and myself had charged full price for every single visit and consult...Took back any credits for refferals (clients I reffered he still has). And also every adjustment he gave my boyfriend... Sorry that should have been seperate...I threw the bill away.. He then filed and got a judgement against me... Believe it or not (Tupper Lake doesnt follow any law) he got the judgement even the services my 40 yr old partner recieved got charged to me... Only legal in Tupper Lake... He then submitted the judgement to the Sheriff who put delivery and interest on it... Last nite my employer paid the full balance of $791.67...
I have also needed to see a regular dr...get x-rays...be sent to a back specialist bc I couldnt bare the pain and suffering Id been thru after 6 months... Turns out my tailone is misaligned... That is a very secured bone and it could only be misaligned from a serious trauma... I asked the specialist if it could be done from a chiroprator during an adjustment...The reply was "Yes it certainly could" I have spent hundreds of dollars out of pocket to undo or fix what this man did to me...
In the end I am told it will take a couple years but it will eventually straighten out...Nothing but time will help... I am still in discomfort a year later...But want to warn other ppl about this cocky man and his bad business practice.... Dont believe a word he says and stay far far away... I regret deeply ever going to him or trusting him with my family... DONT GO!!!!!!! |
