Let me start off by saying I am a south Florida firefighter, and the above comments regarding Keith Friberg are 100% accurate and true: he IS indeed a complete scam / scam-artist. When I was first introduced to ripoffreport.com, the first person that came to mind was none other than Keith Friberg. Needless-to-say, I was happy to see someone had reported this unprofessional, greedy so-called "businessman" before I did. I have been a loyal customer to LA Fitness now for almost seven years. I had transferred to the Wellington location recently because I work near that area. However, my stay was short-lived due to Keith Friberg. The first time I bought a smoothie, for a whopping $8.50, Keith indeed sold it to me. I approached the smoothie stand with a friendly "hi, how are ya?" Not one word came out of his mouth. No greeting, no friendly nod, no smile, nothing. Just simply acknowledgement of my existence. The only words he spoke the entire time were as follows: "Eight fifty". (Referring to the price). No thank you afterwards or anything. To my astonishment, I shortly found out afterward that this was the OWNER of the Energize Cafe! I couldn't believe my ears when fellow gym members were saying he's the owner. They simply said "don't take that personally. He's like that to everyone." Then it dawned on me: how, just HOW can this man run a successful smoothie counter like this? He charges LUDICROUS prices, acts like a complete imbecile, and NEVER says hello to anyone. Unbelievable. The next time I was at the gym, I said "let me give this guy the benefit of the doubt." I figure I'll buy one more and tip him a buck. Well, here I go up to the counter, once again... "STONE COLD" Keith Friberg is there. No words came out of his mouth again. Not until I heard "Nine fifty". I almost had a stroke when I heard the number NINE. I said "I just bought this same exact drink two days ago for EIGHT fifty." Keith froze up, glared, and I mean literally GLARED at me for 6-8 seconds, before he finally said "Eight fifty." I gave him the $8.50 and left no tip. After attending the gym for approximately two weeks, I noticed that Keith was giving me dirty looks from his smoothie counter. I'd see him in the restrooms and give him a kind "hello, Keith", and the man would just walk by without making eye contact. Sad, but true. It took about another week until when a young attractive-looking woman, came on to me at the gym. Casual chatter lead to this, and lead to that, eventually she was asking me to go out sometime. Well, I had no idea at the time, but this turned out to be Keith Friberg's WIFE! I couldn't believe it. Everyone knows she's been with every Tom, Dick, and Harry in the gym. Not one cop nor firefighter has NOT taken her "out".
But that has nothing to do with his professionalism. Or his UNprofessionalism I should say. The bottom line is, Keith Friberg is the biggest RIPOFF artist I've ever met. He changes his prices of his smoothies at random, is afraid to talk to his customers because he doesn't want them getting too close to his wife, and runs a good business very poorly. The report he had written in response to the original report posted clearly shows his insecurity, his lack of intellect, and his lack of professionalism. Not-to-mention, whoever he had write the post to "defend" him above was dropping the "F-bomb" on here. This is a professional database and customers are ALLOWED to leave feedback. By the way, Denise Fischer's smoothie stand was also pitiful, and thank the Lord it was shut down. Now if only someone will wake up and cut-off this con-artist.
