I placed a call to Ken at Ken's Lawn Care to get a quote on having an in-ground irrigation system (sprinkler) repaired and tuned-up. He arrived and quoted a price of $250 mentioning the job should take about 30 minutes. On the day of the appointment, I called Ken before 8:00am and said I needed to cancel. He agreed. I agreed to call him the afternoon of the day after in case I needed to reschedule. Sometime around 2:00pm that afternoon, Ken's Lawn Care arrived with their partner, Beachside Irrigation Services without knocking first. About 30 minutes ater, they claimed to have completed the job and kept trying to pressure my wife into paying them, not wanting her to call me to explain details of the cancellation. After claiming they used $100 in parts for the job, but realizing we were not paying because we cancelled the appointment, the techs got in a huff. They quickly pulled out the $30 in replacement parts and left. The tune-up part of the job was not done either, yet they attempted to collect payment as though it were done. I ended up replacing the parts and fixing the unit myself after work the next day. I believe Ken at Ken's Lawn Care knew he was ripping me off which is why he and the tech from Beachside Irrigation Services rushed over even after I cancelled, quickly performed half the job without knocking first, and tried to rush my confused wife into paying.
