Upfront Fees Lost - No Investment Received - Bad Opinion

This will be a short opinion. We were charged a huge fee to present our deal to what we thought was going to be a room of Angel Investors. As it turned out there was a very small number of Angels and a large crowd of capital brokers who claimed to have access to investors for a fee, of course.

She was nice enough but her promises did not come to fruition and when she knew we weren't going to get funded she started trying to pick our business plan apart after the fact. Then she invited us to participate in a radio show but we quickly realized there was only a few people listening.

I am sad to have to write this opinion. Be careful, read the fine print, understand what you are signing, don't write a check unless you get guarantees.

I'm not saying you won't get funded I'm just saying we didn't.

Incidentally we were funded 60 days later from a single investor who we met at a trade show. Our old business plan worked, the one that Karen said had problems.

This entire opinion is just that, an opinion.
