Leapfrog Refuses to answer calls, can't or won't fix product that they acknowledge is faulty Internet

I purchased a Leapfrog Explorer game system for my 3 year-old for Christmas. It would not connect to their system online so I went online for assistance. I found several possible fixes listed so I tried each of them to no avail.


I called their phone number and talked to a lady who could barely speak English. I explained to her that I had already tried all of the fixes listed on their site and she proceeded to tell me to try the following, then she repeated all of the ones I had just told her I had done. I told her again that I had already done those things and they did not work. After arguing with her for nearly a half hour, I finally got her to listen to me and she said she would send me a program that would scan my computer to see what I had loaded and to diagnose the reason for my system not working. She did send it and I did run it and send the resulting file to her.


A week later, I still had no contact from Leapfrog. I tried their telephone number again and could not get an answer. You get a recording that tells you all of the fixes to try for the Explorer system but then it just shuts off and no one comes on the line. It's been like this for four days now. They are not answering the phones nor are they answering email.


I checked their Facebook site and found that a LOT of people are complaining about this particular game system. It appears that I am not the only one who can't get anyone to answer the phone or reply to an email.


This system is over $120 and my child has been waiting since Christmas to play with his game. How do you explain this crappy customer service to a three year-old???
